The modern equivalent of "give us a couple of bob to watch your car, mister."

Think it will be between Sims and Jay for a place on the bench. Jay probably should have the upper hand, but who knows how he is training.
Nice to have selection problems of this ilk

If for arguments sake Puel was to go unchanged, then my bench would be:

    GK
    Cuco
    Caceres
    Pierre
    Boufal
    Sims
    Long

Yep, that covers the most options for me as well.

I'm struggling to see in what circumstance we would call on Sims from the bench. Especially with Long and Boufal on the bench already (if they are). If we're really, really desperate for a goal late on and have already used two subs on Long and Boufal, then I'd rather Jay came on than Sims. And there's an argument for not having Jay on the bench either.

For me, it's a straight forward decision between a fullback (whether Martina or McQueen) or Jay. And given that Caceres can play RB, I'm going Jay. But I've got no issue with either option really. Keeper, Caceres, Clasie, PEH, Boufal and Long are nailed on to fill six of the seven places in my view, if none start.

In all probability though, our three subs will be used on three of Long, Boufal, PEH and Clasie (if none start).

    Is Boufal definitely fit?

I just can't see a situation where Jay makes a big impact from the bench. I'd throw Long, Boufal & Sims on before him to be honest.

Nah, I'd fancy Sims in behind doing more damage than Jay. Now we have someone who can find the net, its more important to find the good balls into the danger area. Jay can hold it up, but I don't think that's what we'd be looking for. We want someone to commit play & ask questions. Jay would be cuddled up in Smallings pocket, and I say that with no disrespect as I like Jay a lot. (come on kibosh effect) <laugh>

No idea about Boufal. I'm just making an assumption.

I can't really see a situation where either of them make an impact. Hence why I wouldn't be against us putting a FB on the bench, and not picking either of them. But if we are to put one of them on the bench ahead of FB, I'd be going with Jay every day of the week. 87th minute desperation sub, when we're chucking the ball into the box.

Not that it's actually going to make a difference, mind. There's no chance that we're not going to use one of our three subs on a CM. So we're only talking two attackers at most any way.

Have to agree there, I'll be suprised if we see any of those 2 on the pitch at any point, well if Boufal is fit anyway.

On another note, I know I've been championing an unchanged eleven, but I do have slight concerns with Davis in a DM role as part of a pivot. Worked against Sunderland but I think he's struggled against better teams in that position before.

No I would throw sims on. Young hungry in your face and definitely won't be intimidated by manure or Wembley.

    Sorry!

What I was trying to do was to set up a countdown timer to count down to 4:30 pm on the 26th Feb, but after trying a few different sites that offer such a thing, I couldn't find any way of embedding it on here. I've asked admin if it can be done, but I'm not holding my breath! If anyone knows about these things I'd be grateful if they'd let me know!

Phew, the suspense was getting to me!

Thought it was some saucy pictures of the preparation rituals.

wow we certainly deserve to win the cup based on what it means to fans. Our 7 related wembley threads compared to their erm, erm, erm oh none.

Just a week to go and not a thread about a cup final. Go on take a look - they have even started a thread about irritable bowel syndrome but not one for the cup final.

Also their match day thread for todays cup game against Blackburn is call Bought the league Rovers v Manchester Utd. Talk about pots and kettles -

Their supporters really are a bunch of cnuts.

Come on lads, we owe the whole of the footballing world a favour by beating these plastic, prawn sandwich eating glory hunters. As for a prick of a manager, dont get me started. Hope they end up with sod all again this year.

    Have you tried TimeandDate.com.?

EDIT: Just had a look. I remember trying something like this a few years ago. It's one thing to embed a timer into a webpage, but another to embed it into a forum post. It can be done, but the timer does not actively update until you refresh the page, which is a bit pointless, I think.
