Your assuming that the FA wil agree that it was in error! Sure they'll find a way to say it was Wes got the last tug of a shirt or kick in and the card will stand. Could have been worse, bar the WBA score, other results have been kind. Hull is a massive game now. Get at them from the off!
Good graft from your fans today, always great lads and well behaved! JOS & Wes are always gonna be Red Devils! Probably works out better for you that the wrong player got sent off as neither should be banned now.
Surely JOS will get the ban. I'd rather he was available than Wes tho. Already worrying about Vergini at hull
What happened with the arsenal was the red card was switched to the correct player but neither where suspended because the correct player was not sent off the field of play, so it wasnt enforced properly, no retrospective action can be taken as the officials saw the incident, the club will appeal wes and win unless they say wes had the last touch
Doubt it mate, wasn't dangerous so I can't see the FA reviewing it. They don't review any other 'last man' fouls the ref might miss.
Arsenal have succeeded in ensuring that neither Kieran Gibbs nor Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will be suspended following Saturday's red-card blunder at Chelsea. Referee Andre Marriner sent off Gibbs instead of Oxlade-Chamberlain, who had handled a shot from Eden Hazard. The Football Association transferred the red card to Oxlade-Chamberlain, but the Gunners successfully argued he had not stopped a goalscoring chance given Hazard's shot was going wide. Marriner has also escaped punishment. The 43-year-old official, who apologised for mixing up the identities of the players, will take charge of Southampton's home game with Newcastle on Saturday. Professional Game Match Officials Limited, the body responsible for training referees, decided he should be given the chance to get over his mistake immediately, rather than being stood down for the weekend. please log in to view this image Marriner right to ignore Oxlade-Chamberlain All four officials involved at Stamford Bridge will be in action this weekend. Rules drawn up by world governing body Fifa state a player should only be shown a red card for handball if "the unacceptable and unfair intervention prevented a goal being scored".(external) The rules make no mention of a player's intent when handling the ball. PGMOL said cases of mistaken identity were "very rare". It added: "While this was a difficult decision, Andre is disappointed that he failed to identify the correct player. He expressed his disappointment to Arsenal when he was made aware of the issue." Uefa spokesperson Pedro Pinto said the error highlighted the need for additional goal-line officials. He tweetedexternal) "With an additional assistant referee on the end line, referee would not have got that sending off wrong. Technology is not the answer. More eyeballs are the answer." Arsenal were trailing 2-0 at Stamford Bridge when defender Gibbs was mistakenly shown a red card. The defeat dropped the Gunners to fourth place in the Premier League, seven points behind leaders Chelsea but with a game in hand.
The best result today was Cattermole avoiding a yellow and being available on Tuesday. I'd hate to be driving over there thinking he'd not be on the pitch ......... we need him for 90 minutes at Hull.
Wickham by the way, had a cracking chance at the beginning to play in Defoe and went himself. Certain he was doing that against us at your gaff as well. Kid needs to learn when to pass.
