Corned beef hash, thanks Kemps, I'll be having nightmares over this! Regular staple part of our diet for some of us in the 60/early 70s, absolutely bloody hated it, used to dread coming home and seeing this massive tray of it in the oven. It was unfortunately no choice, take it or leave it and have nowt. Since leaving home have never ever bought or ate corned beef.

I remember two types of CBH. My mum bless here made a watery gravy type with boiled spuds and loads of corned beef. Others had the Slop it on the plate like a cow pat. Cowboy style. Mum said both are corned beef hash I liked em both.

My mam made the same as yours. She's been gone 16years now so I'll have to have a go myself.

Layer the sliced potatoes onions and corned beef in a casserole dish add some beef stock and bang it in the oven?

The other ones American pan fried hash serve with baked beans and a fried egg on top.

    Nom nom nom...

100% agree, as a child I had exactly the same thoughts and with beef stew. Now I bloody love them both.

    Weird innit?
