Wednesday 26th April 17:45, Middlesbrough host Sunderland at the Riverside Stadium Last time out Sunderland drew 2-2 at home to West Ham and Middlesbrough lost 4-0 away at Bournemouth. David Moyes: "There is a belief in the squad that we can get three points tomorrow night." "It is important that we give the fans something to cheer about. We haven't done that enough this season." "We are really focusing on staying in the Premier League. If we win this next one it gives us a real chance on Saturday." "We are glad to have Lee (Cattermole) back. We have missed his leadership." "It is such a big game for both clubs. We played well against West Ham and we'll go into this game confident." Steve Agnew: “The players have fighting spirit and will continue to fight,” he said. “We’re all very disappointed but we have to dust ourselves down. “We’ve got a huge challenge ahead but it’s still alive. Six games left and twelve points adrift of safety, we only need to win our last six games Well - I think we can win this one 2-0 Defoe and Big Vic to score Ha’way the lads
Failing to see how either would benefit us next season or even in the current predicament we're in. No, I wouldn't, and I'm a Moyes out camper.
He just oozes boring imo, suicide by way of loyalty by Boro's so called 'fantastic owner'. Their squad is possibly good enough to have survived with a half decent manager too.
I think it had more in the locker than what Karanka got out of them but still don't think they're good enough to stay up. Players like Clayton, Leadbitter, Fabio are just not PL standard. Think Gibson pretty had much accepted relegation when he left Agnew in charge till end of the season.
Sunderland have been terrible but don't have a terrible team, that's the shame ..... I was at Palace where we played very well and deserved the win, no reason why we can't win tomorrow. I think there'll be lots of goals and I will go for 3-2 to the lads. Our support deserves it tbh
Steve Agnew looks younger now than he did when he played for us please log in to view this image ^^^Today^^^ please log in to view this image ^^^1997^^^ 20 years ago! So what's that all about then?
reckon it's not him. I reckon that's a Steve Agnew - Ben Grimm love child. please log in to view this image
Another great match day thread - seems to have an initial posts on a managerial deflection : back on track - away win with our nerves and experience winning but not sure that team will have Antchibe in -we have an injury and its not Jones or surely not Khazri. Catts playing will create sparks and hopefully this is start of a 6 match winning run - we could be the party poopers at Chelsea for John Terrys final premiership game in a Chelsea shirt as our great escape succeeds -... .. hope is all we have atm
Perhaps the trouble is that Moyes is a 'slow build' methodical manager who creates a squad with a style and a bond ....... he's not a charismatic motivator. Mebbe's the right man but not for the job at the time. If he's staying you'd have to hope he's we'll into the planning stage for the window.
Your joking aren't you Smug. SAFC and planning for transfer windows should never be used in the same sentence, it just seems all wrong.
Do you have anything to base that on at all? He's managed 8 pro games in his life and hasn't won a single one of them. You're talking ****. Fair dos having a pop at Moyes when he's done something wrong. But you're everything I hate about this season Wandy. Fans using anything that comes to mind to have a pop at our manager. Even if it doesn't make sense and even if it makes you look stupid like this throw away comment here. At least base it on something so it has some credibility. Bizarre thing is you're always there to dismiss people's genuine concerns with your weird happy clapping cheerleader ****. No wonder some think you're just a wum.
I bet after the Towns troubles both teams will be motivated to try that little bit harder.....3rd bottom might be good enough!
Have I missed something here? Aren't you basically agreeing with Wandy? He says Agnew is rubbish and Moyes is better from the way I read it
Exactly in wrong place at wrong time -not what we need in a charismatic way But as seems likely, we drop , he may become what we have been needing -(still be dour though)- -
