Got to have an operation on my eye on the 7th May and, as I already had one a few years back on the other eye, I know the recovery time is at least 2 weeks so I will miss the Leicester game - am absolutely gutted. Will be the first time I've missed the last home game since I was a kid!
Think yourself lucky/unlucky (delete as appropriate)... I'll get to the Palace match before heading out to the Middle East until Aug/Sept. Ps. Good luck with the Op
I wish!! Sadly I have to spend 45 minutes of every hour in a "head on the side" position! Otherwise there isnb;t enough pressure on the eye to heal it. One of the top 2 eye hospitals in the world Sunderland - the other one is in Cyprus and there's nothing to choose between the two!! Edit: @Home_and_Away sorry to hear that you'll be missing that long and thanks for the well wishes!
You could do that while you are at the game! Grow a pair man ! Not like you'll be missing much if you cant see anything if we continue playing as we have been doing Only joking like, hope your Op goes well btw, if you choose Cyprus, can you get the flights paid for ? go early and make a holiday out of it.
You don;t choose it sadly - it's up to the Doctor/location you are in at the time - there are other eye hospitals but Sunderlands and Cyprus' have the best specialists in the world! Actually the lass that sits next to me is a bit of a MILF so I may go to the match and try sticking my head on her shoulder - not sure what my son would say to his Mam though!!
Still being sent all over the shop then fella? Gutted for you mate. I know you wanted to put a stop to all this ****.
Unlucky fella but your sight comes first. Just stream it and turn your monitor on it's side. Happy days. Hope the op goes well mate.
Afraid so marra... Got the feedback from my interview and the board said I was no 'shrinking violet' and a naturally 'humorous individual' but that some of my answers / responses were at times 'inappropriate' !! I knew I shouldn't have told the truth Onward and upwards
Somebody tried to 'break the ice' with me once when I was interviewing them for a job. The guy started to tell me a joke and I cut him off saying 'That's not necessary right now, thanks'. He knew he didn't have the job. He put 'Advanced MS Office skills' on his CV and I spun my monitor round and handed him my keyboard and mouse and asked him to pivot a load of data, pretty short interview in the end. @marcusblackcat unlucky pal, sounds horrible to me, I hate being restricted like that, good look with the rehab and hope it all goes well for you. I'm out of action at the minute, tore my rotator cuff last week so I'm restricted to doing pretty much nothing in the gym, just as I'm attempting to get in shape for my wedding!
Haha - PivotTables are class (get powerpivot on excel mate - great bit of kit for building dashboards and the like!) I'm sure the op will be fine - had it done once and my right eye is great now - specialist had a feeling it was going to happen at some time over the last 18 months and finally it has! My eye issues have stopped me from gym work as well - can;t run either so it's bike or swim for me and nothing else exercise wise! Gutted about that too as I was just getting back into the swing of things with it
I've not done much with excel for about 7 years, I just wanted to chuck the lad something not too basic to prove his 'advanced' MS Office skills. Most of my skills are face to face nowadays, where the real money is made in my industry, I think I'd struggle to even write basic macros nowadays. What's the issue with your eye mate, standard procedure sort of thing is it? I'm restricted to squats in the gym, people must think I'm trying to grow a booty
Diabetic retinopathy mate - I have a bad bleed in my left eye (on the photo it looks around 2cm but in reality it's about 5mm! Process is called a Vitrectomy (hope they spell it right when I go to theatre!) need a Lucentis injection a week beforehand (injection directly into the eye) - have to say that's the bit I'm much more nervous about!
I'm not squirmish with eyes, I have to put my fingers in mine every day to put my lenses in, but that injection thing just made me shudder. It's amazing the things these doctors can do nowadays though, to think 'god' gets the credit for a lot of it as well Anyway, good luck mate, I'm sure you'll still be able to watch your team one way or another.
Do you mean one eye or another? Cheers mate (Don;t get me started on God - wife's family a Jehovah's witnesses as is one of the lads I work with - we always make snide little blasphemus comments in front of him!) - we'll be here a while if I start on THAT subject I'll have to wear a patch for a couple of weeks after the op so will be saying "Ooo-aaar my 'earties" and various other corny pirate stuff!!
Trying to get into shape for your wedding and you tear a rotator cuff? Your body is talking to you TJ. Run!! Run for the hills! Don't look back, just run!!
