Three bumpers no less but I have to say it isnt a day for getting the wheelbarrow wheels oiled.

At Plumpton I would be taking the jolly on with the Greatrex trained MAJOR DAVIS 7/2. Its too early to write this one off espescially hailing from this yard.

In the finale at Market Rasen the one I like is VBADGE TREAT 9/2. From a decent bumper stable and has a really nice pedigree.

The trickiest affair and the one most worth watching with an eye on the future is the 4.40 and I could make a case for several of them. In races like these you have to plump for one at a fair price so I am settling for JANE LAMB 33/1. She comes from a nice family with a half brother being a bumper winner. The yard can get one ready for a bumper so at the price she gets a tentative nod.

This should be alot easier than the Newmarket maiden she ran in last year which was full of winners.

    Morning, team.

Harefield was ran respectably, although not profitably, to finish 4th at Newbury on Saturday. Should make one ‘eck of a novice hurdler for next season though. While on the subject of the NH game, if I can be serious for a moment, it does makes you wonder how much more of this those with any semblance of a heart can take. Reve De Sivola’s death was shocking and heartbreaking. Saturday was the first time I’d watched the whole of an afternoon’s racing for some time and the camera angle used (I’m not blaming ITV as it just happened to be that way at that precise moment) showed the tragedy in some detail. Very hard to get excited about anything NH right now.

Was good though to see a Flat turf card back yesterday afternoon and the distances in the ‘lucky last’(1 mile maiden) at Naas are of eye opening proportions – 11 lengths and 8.5 lengths! Either Mr O’Brien’s Orderofthegarter is very good, people, or he beat trees. Next time this one runs you pays your money and you takes your choice!

    Good luck, pilgrims.

Chippenham running on Wednesday (6.55 Kempers Park) after which he will be given a perch. I’m sure the question will then be - What’s Chippenham’s handicap??? Although I’m sure we all know the answer to that one don’t we regular readers...

Not too unhappy with a 33/1 second but looks like we bumped into a very good mare there!
