Done a fantastic job at Leeds and must have other plans for his career progression....Good luck to him wherever he goes....
His stock is high again after the strong job he's done at Leeds. Don't blame him leaving, after all weren't they preparing to sack him after 3-4 games?
Taff I tend to agree with this, Palace surely will want a higher profile manager, Boro job would be a good one with a good chairman and squad.
I would assume that someone had already spoken to him before he decided not to take up his option of a further 12 months at Elland Road. I'm not sure that Sam's decision was public knowledge when Monk decided to move on whereas the Boro & Sunderland jobs were already available.
Agree TLF, Palace directors will want a high profile manager to stroke their egos and caress their delusions of grandeur. I don't see Monk staying in the Championship though. If he wanted that he'd have stayed at Leeds so I cant see him going to Hull, Boro or Sunderland simply because they'll be spending next season licking their wounds. Of all the clubs mentioned I see Monk at Watford. I have a soft spot for Watford because they're a similar club to us. They're not pretentious with real world, achievable aspirations, as a club they know who they are and they know their limitations. They know they're not Champions League but they look to improve each year in order to get there. Monk and Watford go together like G and T in my opinion. Monk is good enough to manage in the prem and he's good enough to move Watford up the table, he'd be a perfect fit.
It appears Silva is in advance talks with Watford for the managers job. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2017/05/26/watford-close-marco-silva-talks-advanced/ I still think Monk will remain in th Championship and although did well at Leeds, They fell away very badly in the end and the club is corrupt to its core. If he moves to Boro or Sunderland, more stable environment where he has a chance of gaining promotion.
