Sorry if mentioned elsewhere , couldn't see it ... Are people really pushing for him to be sacked over what he said to the female journalist? I am not a fan of his by any means, but think I might be done with football if he loses his job over it, It's pathetic - all day talksport interviewing the usual suspects , claiming the usual bollocks that he is preventing abused woman from
Speaking out etc , it would have been worse if he hadn't acknowledged she was female , then people would have accused him of being a woman beater - the females want to be treated equal , so he had a laugh and joke in same way you would with a bloke and he gets crucified for it

A bit extreme DJ? A heck of a lot worse things have happened in football.

Its been a mass discussion on the radio this morning. One caller an upstanding member of the community though it sexist, as bad as racism and homophobia, thankfully a guy from Solihull basically called him a prick without saying it and a woman caller said she would have replied 'yes please' when he said she needs a slap and asked who the hell escalated this in the first place. The thing is for me, when she comes into what is to all intents and purposes a male domain, she must know what she was walking into. In the press box I'm sure the word **** is used often, I dare say she's said it herself. The other thing is, when you ask someone under huge pressure a question (and I dont even know what it was ), make sure that the question isn't going to cause the reaction it did.

He's not going to lose his job over it, it was a stupid thing to say and he's rightly been criticised for it, but the only likely consequence is a slap on the wrist from the FA.

I'm not sure if you're joking or not DJ. Threatening a woman for just doing her job is completely unacceptable and he should be banned.

Being a journalist isn't a male only occupation, it's no wonder you live in a cave..

The very fact people are calling it a threat is the problem , he was laughing , everybody in the room was laughing - yet it's been described as a threat , the world has gone mad

Agreed, it was a throw away comment meant as a joke. Trial by social media again. I saw Gary lineker had tweeted his outrage on the news last night.

He threatened to slap her, how is it not a threat?

I shouldn't be surprised by the typical sexist, misogynistic nature of the reaction on a predominantly male football forum, but I find it shocking anyone thinks issuing threats of violence to a woman is acceptable.

So you don't know what question she asked but it's definitely her fault for upsetting him ?

He threatened to slap her next time. As long as she sorts her make-up out and shows some cleavage, she'll be fine.

I bet that the FA wouldn't slap him on the wrist if he was a woman.
