Yeah, I've passed it on the way to my dentist just by there. Been to the veggie restaurant by it a few times (symphonies or harmonies or suchlike name). There's some truly sound rezzies in York, but in all honesty, since I stopped drinking I tend to just go to The Dormouse across the road which serves the best pub food I've ever had - truly. Restaurant prices though!

Edit - just checked trip adviser; it's (Plunkett's) now a pub called The eagle and Child! (Mossy will appreciate the exclamation mark).

Went to york, on a little holiday with the wife, beautiful place, the museum is a particular delight. however come 6 oclock it becomes infested with pissed up people, its just an eastern version of blackpool, especially along the river front.

I will pretend i was disgusted but ive never seen so many lasses with there tits out.

Yeah York is alright for an idealistic short break, live there and be in town after like 10.30pm though and you fast discover it's a chav ****hole and the pretty old **** is pure facade and marketing

There's an Eagle and Child in Huyton as well, isn't there?

Aye, or at least there was. Appears they've moved it to York city centre. That'll give the American and Japanese tourists a nice welcome if they keep the original clientele and, er, ambience.

Toughest boozer I've ever been in, there was some bad, bad batards who used to 'work' from there.

If got burnt down in the late 90's I think.
