Good luck to them. Are there many other brewers in Hull? http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/fath...wery-in-hull/story-29842735-detail/story.html
Atom ? IreLly like their brown ales and porters - their IPAs are like all IPAs a bit meh! What's left for the beardy hipster to discover ??? Have they done the whole bespoke cigar thing yet
Theres Yorkshire Brewing co down Humber st. Not sure if any more. Great Newsome out Withernsea way does some nice ale
I know Lindsey quite well, he's a smart lad and knows his beer. I predict good stuff from this. Damn good musician, too. As for other local breweries, some have been mentioned but there's also Bricknell Brewery who are producing some outstanding bottled ales at the moment - the Gorlovka stout is immense. You can buy direct from them (google it) or from Beer In A Bottle in Beverley - and the lad who runs the beer stall at Humber Street Market had some of theirs in stock last time as well.
Can't believe I missed the thread Humble apologies! Sounds good to me anyway, the more people making beer the better! (although you wonder when the market might get too full of small producers...if they can make a living then fair play to them) I'm not really a fan of 'Christmas spice' beers ...although I am a fan of beers that are 7.2% ! I've only really drunk Atom in terms of current Hull beers. They're really good (Sutton Fields I think) Not sure about Yorkshire Brewing Co...where's it sold? As for calling his son Lindsey ...whatever. If he's named after Buckingham then he's named after one of the best guitarists I've ever seen live
Pave and Minerva frequently have Yorkshire Brewing Co beers on. They're decent to be fair and they did a City one a while back (can't remember the name, something Tiger-y) though I'm not sure if it was a limited one or if they still do it. He is named after Lindsey Buckingham and appropriately is also an excellent guitarist (and he did used to cover "Looking Out For Love", appropriately).
Share your thoughts on Spiced beers btw, I generally can't get on with them, though I did have a spiced porter in Hop & Vine a few months back which was really quite good, but the spices were a bit more subtle than in most beers of that nature. They're a bit marmite I suppose, my missus loves spiced beers, but they aren't for me at all as a rule.
I've probably had one, but couldn't recall where they were sold so not sure I'll keep my eye out, cheers
I was actually shocked you missed this thread i was getting a bit worried. Anyway had a few in Minerva so probably tried yorkshire brewing co. Mighty fine they where too.
Bit Off Topic this but I have a mate who once in all seriousness declared that he'd shag the arse of that Lindsey Buckingham but that Stevie Nicks was a complete ****er
Haha, brilliant. Stevie Nicks was ****ing beautiful in the 70s. Before she started to resemble Barbara Cartland.
