I know why the badge was changed. We won and they couldn't take losing. Its is likely that they will soon be consigned to a couple of pages in the Hull City history books. Having our name on the badge will make no difference to how many overseas supporters we attract. There is no marketing reason to have the name on the badge.
I think you're spot on Obi. What I find disappointing is that we don't wait and look at the bigger picture, instead of being as petty as the Allams are.
I like the name on the badge. I don't give a flying **** about marketing. I like the old badge. I hate the new badge, it's **** & the reasons it came about make it abhorrent. Why wouldn't you want the name on the badge?
Badge blather. Pages of badge blather. Aghhhggg. Blather. No more blather. A new dawn beckons. We will be free.
Hull City, no matter what's on the badge/shirt will never sell merchandise in any quantity abroad. We'll never muscle our way into the same markets as ManU, ManC, L'pool, Arsenal, Barcelona, Madrid, Bayern. We won't muscle in because we're a yo-yo club, a club on the up ....... the best we'll see is likely to be the odd snide City shirt in some local bazaar. What we will do though, by ****ing about with the clubs identity is piss the captive support off. The Cardiff owner was testing the Far East market before our pair of geniuses, he soon found that despite having the mighty dragon on a lucky red shirt he couldn't flog them naive (allegedly) Asians a single box of shirts - he couldn't get them shirts back to blue quick enough!
This doesn't indicate my stance on the argument but people realise there are plenty of clubs without their name on the badge. I think people struggle to separate the badge and the motivation behind the change in the badge.
Other people's badges? It's been mentioned before & is still irrelevant to the issues surrounding our club. Why would you separate them? The badge is ****. It doesn't represent the club. It represents the childlike idiocy, strops & spite of a couple of ****s. Our previous badge was fine.
I like the old badge, especially compared to the current one, but there were plenty of fans on here and elsewhere calling for a change, which was part of the reason it was being considered. Historically we've had some **** logos. with and without the name. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Hull_City/Hull_City.htm
He did say that. He also said he added the 1904 because he thought the fans would like it because of the CTID chant at 19.04.
I have a feeling that any new owner will keep Ehab on as a consultant at least, perhaps for six months or so.
