Definitely not Arsenal or Liverpool...so has to be winner of Man U. v West Ham...if we get past Newcastle, which may be a tall order unless Phelan gets his act together.
Won't be easy, they stuffed us the last twice at the KC 1-4 & 0-3, they seem to like the place. We seem to do better at their place.
Excellent draw could only have been bettered by getting L""ds at home. We will win then hopefully get either West Ham or Man Utd in the Semi final.
We need to get our defence sorted sharpish! Newcastle arè in free-flow, scoring for fun and playing strong, controlled attacking football (BCC take note! ). It should be a great game.
Have they sacked Rafa? Someone on here was saying he was ultra-defensive and the Toon supporters would find him out?
We were playing Hayden regularly at the start of this season, but he hasn't been used much recently....which is surprising, cos he's been excellent whenever he's played. Diame's looking a bit of a donkey for us so far, misses too many sitters and loses the ball too much, he's improved slightly recently, but I'd still rather he wasn't in the 1st team. Like you, this was the draw we were hoping for in the absence of getting Leeds, should be a close one, bookies make us the slight favourite atm, but Hull will still be fancying their chances. This is the point club's start to take the competition seriously and stop playing their 2nd teams.
Blimey, is it a 2 dayer ?!? Better owner, better infrastructure, bigger catchment area, less leisure options etc
I guess after a load of **** results this was a good opportunity to get the confidence back with a win, so a smart decision in the end. We were massively helped by Preston who played a complete reserve team (including a keeper who seemed to be cemented to the floor), while ours was a mix of 1st team players and fringe players (Mitro, Diame, Hayden, Colback, Hanley, Yedlin, etc), who completely tore them apart. I imagine what we put out against Hull will be similar.
I think its a great draw you cant ask much more than to be at home in a quarter final, Newcastle great support will bring plenty and hopefully by then we will have hit some form mind you we have been waiting for that for weeks, we live in hope
