With 1 game done what do we think of our next 6 fixtures, i think we are likely to see 2 or 3 new faces in this period so hopefully an improvement in results as we go. Man Utd (A) Sorry can't really see anything other than a home win. 0 points Sunderland (H) This is the game where i think it will click. 3 points. Arsenal (A) With atleast 1 new player in the line up and confidence high i see us earning a draw. 1 point. Swansea (H) Unbeaten at home run continues with an easy victory. 3 points West Ham. (A) this one will be a battle and i think the Hammers may edge it. 0 points Leicester (A) away to the champions, we run them close last season, this season we win 3-1. 3 points. Total points 10. Puts us on 11 points after 7 games, that is more than respectable and i think is a realistic target.
I'm thinking either two wins and a draw for 7 points, or a win and two draws for 5. Split the difference and call it 6. I'm not too upset with that really. I just think it's a tough schedule with mostly good teams plus 4 away matches. We have a new manager, new players (some from other leagues and some of whom might not even be here yet), and the Fonte thing going on. So we won't stay at a 1 point per game rate the entire season.
6-8 points seems about right. Win against Sunderland and Swansea, pick up a draw or two somewhere on our travels.
A little early for me to be predicting. It'll only be a guess based on last year's version of teams. Watford were tough to breakdown last season in the first half, yet we still created enough to have beaten them Saturday. I'll guess at 7-8 points.
Very hard to base on one game, but I would take 6-7 as the number of points that wouldn't have me tearing my hair out. Two wins with/without a draw. Tough start so girding my loins....however, I've underestimated Saints before.
Two wins and a draw wouldnt be disastrous from that run of fixtures. Honestly, I dont know how the managers formation is going to go, the players I'm confident about but if we cant keep clean sheets there'll be more losses than draws.
-4 points based on us entering administration and drawing each of the six games, as Watford at home clearly shows we can only ever draw...
I'll go for a win against Swansea, a loss againat United and draw the rest so 7 points. Maybe 6 with a loss to Arsenal. As others have said though very hard to say at this stage.
Saints should get a draw against United, a defeat against this lot is terrible. Besides which to lose to a team still bedding down is not on. On to Sunderland.and I see a draw. So that take us to Arsenal .... maybe another draw. Then its West Ham. A win here. Finally Leicester, a loss I'm afraid. I forgot Swansea. Umm, a Swans win!!
The club will be out of business by October once the truth behind the Liebherr's fortunes are revealed ... This is the fantasy thread, isn't it? OK. We lose all the games, except for a draw against Sunderland. We'll still be bottom at Christmas and our relegation will be confirmed in March. After 50+ years of supporting Saints, I always set my expectations low. Even then Saints have often fallen short! Serious? 4-6 points from that lot will do me.
I am going to see this as a rebuilding year...so I will remain sane as long as I see promising signs. ** **secretly hoping for better.
Entirely predictable start to the season so far - frustrated by a robust Watford, slightly outclassed by a resurgent Utd; cue some mild panic among our notoriously pessimistic supporters. 5 points from our next three might settle the nerves a bit. Though a draw vs Sunderland will have the bedwetters in a frenzy of despair. Reckon we'll beat Wham in "their" new Stadium though, & turn it on vs Swansea.
