Now the SuperDon is toning down his rhetoric and is actually praising Kim a "smart cookie" for getting to the top at a young age and surviving against those who would see him toppled. Sums him up that he is not aware of how Kim and his family have run N Korea as a dynasty.

Maybe he is buttering him up whilst lining up a sale of nuclear weapons to him. If he is not careful the rest of the world will just ignore his posturing and get on with everyday life and the US can revel in his stupidity.

Exactly. He starts by allegedly sending a naval battle group to Korean waters, sets up anti missile systems in S Korea says there could be a "major major conflict" with N Korea but today he is calling Kim a smart man.

It may appeal to Billy-Bob and Jessi-Mike voters but he is just about on the edge of comedy as he believes what he is thinking and saying.
