I should have said: "Abel Hernandez has scored six penalties since signing for Palermo on 02/02/09"
He's scored about one penalty a year so he doesn't seem to be most managers best penalty taker.

He's right though, until yesterday Hernandez had never missed a penalty, so he was obviously going to take it.

Out of six attempts in six years. Other people were usually chosen by managers to take penalties. I assume that's because these players were considered better than Hernandez due to their penalty taking in training.
Given Maloney's ability at set pieces I don't know why he wasn't chosen.
Maloney has taken 13 penalties and scored from 11

This is an 85% conversion rate which is the average for the Premier League (similarly to Hernandez's conversion rate!)
Anybody can miss a penalty but is it so easy to forgive somebody for taking a penalty as badly as Hernandez's against Forest? It showed he didn't have the confidence to take the penalty.
Hernandez is scoring goals but you rarely see him score with a good shot. He has skills but he doesn't have a high degree of shooting skill.

It's always good to have a range of quality in a discussion. Some people may find it boring if everybody could provide a coherent argument.

I think Maloney should take penalties.
Who do you want to take penalties?

Our best penalty taker, who based on RECORD and not some bullshit about how they stand before the penalty, is HERNANDEZ.

And you clearly didn't read my post. Try again:

It was a **** penalty though! No height but right down the middle, so it doesn't really matter what his body shape looked like on the run up, the keeper dived one way, got lucky with his legs left there. Did he take one in the shoot out v Accrington? I seem to recall seeing him hammer one in somewhere?

    Are you actually being serious?

I quite clearly said Hernandez, you ****ing tool.

Why? Because he's our best penalty taker. And has the best record. Not because of some bullshit about how he ****ing looks.
