I caught crabs once in Holland, funny as **** trying to ask a non English speaking Dutch bird for crab ointment. Got too embarrassed in the end and walked out, went back to the digs and shaved the lot off and doused my crown jewels with vinegar. That ****ing hurt I tell you.
Any of the Redhouse lads remember the bus route and the old North and South terminuses we used to hang around the North one every night. It was a great estate to grow up on in those days, so different to-day. Those travelling shops did a roaring trade, the place was a gold mine for them before the shopping centre was built.. The back door traders in Southwick were less commercial, you could still buy a glass of pop and a toffee apple for a penny down that way, a cheap treat, then you had Lizzie Anns, fish and chip shop, far better than Alberts , The Savoy, Cinema and Dance then, Evans Brick Yard, Stoney Lane, the Quarries and Thompsons Park what better place was there to spend your summer holidays.
Aye was some good battle with the blackies, once remember the night they were hiding in the house at the top of boldon bank had to stand and fight that night. Good old days on town end farm was never a dull day loved it.
Aye that's the bloke, he had a ket shop down fullwell over looking the docks. Me and my mate got caught nicking kets out of his shop, didn't know it was his shop until the **** was lashing us with his cane in front of the whole school in assembly. He gave my mate an extra couple cos his hands were dirty
Aye, old farmer loche, I spent my child hood in them quarries mate, used to be a pond in there where they'd dug it out yonks ago for landfill but was never used until the last 15 years I reckon. It's all filled in now but often wonder if the quarry in Locke's side of the land is still there cos there used to be an old, half buried flour mill in the land and i'm pretty certain it was listed. I might have a dodge up when I get home.
