Shots fired in McDonalds car park at St Andrews Quay.

Roads around the area all closed.

I reckon they didn't put enough mayo on someone's McChicken sandwich.

Police outside McDonald's on St Andrew's Quay.
Armed police were called to St Andrew's Quay in Hull after shots were fired at a car outside McDonald's.

Two people inside the blue Volkswagen Golf, which had its windows blown out, were unhurt and are assisting police with their enquiries.

The suspects made off in a grey Volkswagen Golf, passing the Asda Supermarket on Hessle Road, travelling in the direction of Gipsyville.

A member of the public is receiving treatment at the scene for shock.

A police spokeswoman said: "A 999 calls was made at 11.35am today (Saturday January 2, 2016), by a member of the public reporting a number shots being fired in the car park of McDonalds Restaurant, St Andrews Quay, Hull.

"An outer cordon has been put in place around the scene of the firearms incident and firearms trained officers, the police helicopter, specialist police dogs and many other supporting departments of the police are in attendance, tracking down the offenders."

Ambulances and the police helicopter were also called to the scene.

Eyewitness Jamie Hall, from Hull, said: "I was at the petrol station next to it, there are currently three armed police vehicles and the police helicopter.

"McDonalds is cordoned off, a blue car has both passenger side windows smashed in the car park."

On Twitter, @paulharps said: "Sat in hull maccys and someone just shot **** out of a car in the car park. Police here with tasers out #madness".

Another witness described a Golf with "shot-out windows".

Given the shooting at Melton and the samurai on the A63 just off the top of my head, the "only" in Hull bit is clearly nonsense.

Have you EVER managed 'humour' that hasn't needed an explanation ?

I'm guessing a dressmaker calling someone a tart was just another of your attempts at humour. <laugh>

I doubt anyone else needed an explanation, other than those who are equally desperate to take issue with my posts.

    You flatter yourself.

A more accurate piece of ironic 'humour' would surely have been 'only in the UK', or it just looks like another of your digs at this City.

I don't take 'digs at this city', other than in your imagination, in fact, nobody posts more about our fine city than I do.

    No need to thank me.

A couple of lads I play football with work there, apparently it is to be closed until the 17th February.

Pikeys to blame according to eyewitnesses, unsure what the motive was.
