you think not many fans would be that excited about their first European games a little over a decade after being in the bottom division? The scramble for tickets says the fans were excited - my mate camped outside the ticket office all night to get Lokeren away tickets - but the in-ground atmosphere was ****e.
My enduring memory from the final is our fans drowning out the Arsenal 'support' as they celebrated their winning goal - that and the grinning **** Probert giving Arsenal a corner when it was blatantly a goal kick. Not that I'm bitter or 'owt.
No. Castro is an ex dictator, he has ceased to exist... After all the comments about Barcelona I though I would use a name I have used before. It was in honour of when the first bar was allowed to have drinkers sat outside in Hull centre. Naturally the police and licensing authority demanded a cordon around it, plastic glasses and only to be used at certain times. A deluded councillor told the HDM that looking down the street on a sunny day you could almost think you were in Barcelona. No you couldn't.
I think the players would rather have a quiet ferry and bars before the game and a raucous noise in the ground.
No. I can point out numerous occasions managers have appealed for the fans to make a cauldron of noise and create a hostile atmosphere. Have you any where managers have asked the crowd to maintain a respectful silence so the players can concentrate better on the game?
Tbh, I don't hold such a database of manager quotes. Managers talk rubbish on a weekly basis in the media. FACT.
So you have never heard a manager appealing for support? Really? Tell you what, see if anybody can give an exampke of when a manager has ever asked the fans to keep quiet as that would help the players. Alternatively, just admit you are wrong.
I was right. I got one . No queue lunchtime on the day I bought them. I made no assertion about whether it was a sell out or not.
I did not say I had never heard a manager make such an appeal (or not). Try reading what people write rather than what you hope they have written. You need to take a step back on some topics. These include:- - atmosphere at games -licensing laws -Humberside Police - urban population versus match attendance
I think it may have been quiet in the ground because we all got pissed singing til 1 a.m. on the Hull to Zebrugge ferry then drinking 4 Euro Belgian Stella pre match in the square for 6 hours, then the 2 mile walk to the ground whilst singing our heads off which finally ****ed us up. Or was that just me
