Riyad Mahrez scored a brace for Algeria against Zimbabwe - Islam Slimani played and seems to have misseed a bit of a sitter Daniel Amartey is currently playing for Ghana against Uganda. They are 1-0 up. looks like he may be playing at centre-back. Wouldn't be overly surprised to see Claudio deploy him there for us with Ndidi in front of him in future.
When we first were after Amartey, I read he was brought in to be a CB bit for whatever reason he never played there for us.
I said over on Foxestalk. Wouldn't mind playing Ndidi and Amartey as a central defense pairing against Derby.
I want to see Hernandez playing CB - got a lot of plaudits last season but for some reason is only backup RB here.
I know what you're referring to, Fosse. But is now the right time to start experimenting with new central defensive partnerships? Takes time to strike up a real understanding. Unless you're thinking of a back 3?
I think it might be time to give one of Wes or Huth a breather.... shouldn't be experimenting as surely they have done this in training anyway ... but if Mbodji comes in I can't see him being a bench warmer ... could be a back 3.
