Fat Mike will surely rinse Palace if they did try to make a bid....

Londoners' new manager signed the Senegal international from Germany's Freiburg 3 years ago and is now eyeing him for looming relegation fight

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew is weighing up a swoop on former club Newcastle for striker Papiss Cisse.

Ex-Toon chief Pardew, who quit Tyneside for the Selhurst Park side at the turn of the year, signed Cisse three years ago in a £9.5million deal with German side Freiburg.

Pardew this week took Arsenal striker Yaya Sanogo on loan. But he is still searching for more firepower and is believed to be considering a late transfer-window move for Cisse.

The Senegal international, 29, began his Newcastle career by hitting 13 goals in his first 12 matches. But lean spells and injuries have led to doubts about his future atthe Magpies.

He has fuelled rumours of a move by admitting that Swansea - seeking a replacement for new Manchester City signing Wilfried Bony – have been discussed.

Cisse, also linked lately with Turkish giants Galatasaray, said: “After the Africa Cup of Nations we talk about a lot of clubs, Swansea and others.”

    * PALACE are also ready to cut their losses and dump misfit Jimmy Kebe. They have told the fit-again winger, 30, he can move on this month.

Forgotten man Kebe has made just two Premier League starts since joining from Reading 16 months ago.

Boss Alan Pardew is also trying to ditch Jack Hunt and Stuart O’Keefe.

It would be bad news to lose Cisse at this time, whilst he has struggled to score over a prolonged period his return to some semblence of form this season has improved our chances and current position, we would very definitely be worse off without him.

If we sell Cisse to anyone we are in deep **** because we all know he won't be replaced.

Cisse is no great shakes but we need him in the short term. I think he will leave in the summer.

Sell him and we are fo**ked. There simply will not be enough time to replace him. He knows how to find the back of the net when it counts. We will need him as will be scrapping for points for the rest of the season.

I think that a lot of players could be leaving in the summer. Cisse, Sissoko, Aarons, to name but a few. Mikey will want one last 'cash in' before he ****s off to Glasgow.

Haven't they just signed Sango'o and have Gayle who are similar type strikers to Cisse, think this one is an absolute none starter.

Didn't Manchester City make an enquiry about Cisse and got quoted £25m?

I doubt Palace would be capable or willing to pay anywhere near that sort of price.
