Sounds exciting. How many hours did that take (elapsed) ? Better than a 5 day test match no doubt ?
Seriously, sounds like I should watch this one later.

You know Patty, the North American sports fans really piss off their ladies, the games last far too long. These NA sports are the ideal way at parties (****, they have so many of 'em - Super Bowl, Stanley Cup hockey, basketball (pro & college) to have a bloody good time with the lasses.
Mind you - I'm a bit of an ice hockey fan, but **** the curling !

No wonder they lost if they took a sack on the pitch. How do you run about or catch a ball holding a lump of hessian?

It seems from the papers that there was a Lady Gaga concert last night in between some men in padding running about.

Last night was an absolutely incredible piece of sport, one of the best I've ever had the privilege of watching.

If you don't enjoy or understand the NFL then I feel sorry for you, you missed something special.

Commiserations Quill, I was rooting for your guys but sometimes you just have to stand back and acknowledge the genius of Brady, the guy is one of a kind.

Indeed, no sport is compelling when the observer has no interest in the outcome. Personally, I thought English soccer was boring until I started following a particular club.

One thing you folks across the Atlantic may not know is the institutional NFL is losing popularity over here. Folks still love the professional game, mind you, but the League has been screwing it up for years (How many of you love football but despise the Football Association?). Among other transgressions, there has been too much injection of gimmickry and pizzazz at the expense of the game's fundamental aspects.

That's a very good point, the direction the NFL is taking has distinct similarities with what happened to the English football top flight after the introduction of the Premier League.

As a Patriots fan, I was gutted at half time and nearly gave up and went to bed. Same again when 28-3.

That result made the 3:30 finish worth it. Never thought it was possible, even on the last drive of the 4th, I fully expected them to get the to but fail the 2pt attempt.

Just finished watching the 4th and OT again, this time more calmly and being able to enjoy it.

big pats fan for nearly 20 years-started following them when they were truly **** but their draft system ensures there are no big 4/6 that dominate the leagues year after year- recorded the sky coverage last night and watched it today- my god what a match- after half time I thought well that's it , but what an effin comeback!!!- Atlanta's defence had the measure of the pats first half but their secret weapon was not just brady- it was a combination of Belichick , Matt Patricia , pats defensive co ordinator and Brady- Belichick has the ability to see whats going wrong and make appropriate changes on the pitch- the longer half time break undoubtedly was a benefit for New England- the Falcons just didn't look the same team the 3rd and 4th quarters. Patricias defense ramped up their efforts and stopped some key Atlanta drives in the 3rd and 4th quarters and Brady, well hes just Brady- ( I chuckled when he went for 15 rushing yards when a big hole appeared in the Atlanta line) wonder if he will go out on a high?

It was outstanding to put it mildly.
They just refuse to lie down.
Why Falcons didn't use the running game to use up some clock is quite baffling though.
