I am slightly startled though that someone who used to work for him, is happy to return and work for him again. Surely that's impossible?

 

No, but given Slutsky has already stated we need 7-8 players, I assume the kids will be fringe first team players. If we kept Tymon - I'd have no issue with him being first choice LB assuming Robertson does move on. (Not stating we will keep him, just an example) Lenihan - not sure if we can rely on him given his injury track record.

 

I don't think we are, we are just not getting all worked up about it.

People are (rightly) making a fuss about Tymon been off, was he not youth team.
How about Bowen and Mannion? I would like to see them around the first team too.

Championship is the ideal place to blood the younger players and get them into the first team told.

We will bring in a couple of free agents, 4/5 loans, and buy another 4/5 players, promote some youth and we have a balanced progressive squad

I was just thinking the same thing, not too sure if appointing Pennock is a good move for the club or not, it just sounds like Ehab's running everything.
My initial excitement is simmering down with this appointment.

He's never coached first team players apart from a disastrous few months, I'm not blaming him. But is he someone the older pros wil respect?
I want to see a good young coach come in.

Really surprised and a little disappointed about this appointment. Was hoping with a clean sweep and a statement by Slutski with an appointment from one of his contacts. Sounds like he did not have anyone he knew in mind and Pennock was suggested by Ehab and he went along. Cant believe it was his own idea.
Got to say he did well at the Academy. But was hoping for a budding Silva or Guardiola.

 

Maybe Pennock is a budding Silva ( but can win away) or Guardiola ?
