When a man like Advocaat thinks it's too serious to handle, it's not going to be easy to get anyone to take it. SAFC is now a very hot potato.
Sam has two choices. He either comes here or he fancies the villa job so he'll sit tight till they sack Sherwood Can't see any other prem jobs for him. West Brom maybe if they go on a bad run and they chop Pulis
listening to talk ****e this morning and they reckon Fat Sam is still the favourite but it would be all on his terms. Its all paper talk, could be worse than the transfer rumours this one
I think this is going to happens lot over the coming days. We are not in a strong position here - when the likes of DA (a well respected and liked manager) walks away hinting at broken promises, it will send alarm bells ringing with other managers. If the club wants a manager who is already in work (Moyes, Dyche) or with a good cv (Allerdyce) then they are going to have to agree to their terms. There will undoubtedly be other vacancies before too long in the EPL so these people can afford to wait whereas we cant. We are either going to get somebody dictating terms to us or we will end up going back down the unproven route yet again.
It certainly is. Any manager coming in will want assurances on funds and backing. What Short is prepared to give is another matter. I do think Ellis did his best to support DA though. After all, the money was there and it wasn`t Shorts fault they refused to come or failed medicals. I don`t know mate, I`ve just about given up trying to make sense of it.
I don't see this ending well at the moment, unless we just happen to get lucky and pick some relatively unknown manager who turns out to be great. I just can't see anyone who I'd want to come, actually agreeing to come to us after the succession of managers who've failed. Fingers crossed.

Personally I wouldn't blame anyone that turns the job down, whoever takes it is on a hiding to nothing. I can't believe that any decent manager would want to work with a DOF , it's just not workable as we have proven over the last couple of years. Just imagine what Cloughie or Shankly would say if they were told that they would have no say in transfer dealings.
And to think the chances are these same ones will be refusing to come here. Losing on the pitch as a team and losing off it as a business. We are a mess of a club. Getting seriously disheartened now mate.
