This thread is for all the news and build up to the big game. Please post anything about the game on this thread if you can instead of single threads. Don't forget to use the poll in closes on Saturday at 2:37 PM.
Seamge, I would like to take this chance on this very last match thread of the season, to thank you for your time and effort with making these threads for us all to enjoy. So, thank you
I believe there is 3 positions where DC has to make a decision on. The rest picks itself! Mildenhall or Puddy in goal? Mildenhall has started in both league games vs Grimsby and kept 2 clean sheets. Also he has more experience so a crucial game like this and at Wembley too with way over 40,000 in attendance and on live TV, could be the right call for DC. But Puddy has been our current number 1 keeper for 8 games and he has kept 6 clean sheets in these 8 games, including both play off games! Between them, they have kept 24 clean sheets, Mildenhall keeping the majority of them. They both have a massive case to put to DC to start this game. Lockyer or Leadbitter at RB? Lockyer has been 1st choice at RB this season and has played well. However when Lockyer was forced to play at CM, Leadbitter took his chance at RB and was a massive threat when attacking, like Brown is down the left side. Leaditter has scored as well and has much more bags of pace to burn which could be the better choice for this game, especially as Grimsby have a tricky winger. I could see Lockyers pace causing issues and he could lose his discipline. We cant afford to drop to 10 men. Leadbitter have started in both games vs Grimsby just like Mildenhall. Will DC fancy at Leadbitter at RB against them again or stick with his 1st choice RB? Blissett or Harrison up front? Harrison has the super sub tag this season, being the only sub to come on to actually make a difference in games when its been needed. No other sub has been able to do this for us. But at the same time, he has been quality in recent months when starting games and scoring fo fun. But his discipline worries me and his reaction after seeing red at FGR may persuade DC to keep him benched for Grimsby and not reward him his a Wembley start. When Blissett joined, he looked good but his form dropped dramatically and rightly benched. He got given a chance in the home leg vs FGR and although didnt get a chance on goal from what I remember, he had a very impressive game, linking up with Taylor very well and got other players like Gosling, Lines, Mansell and Monkhouse into the game. Would be harsh to drop him after that game but also hard to leave out Harrison who clearly is in a purple patch at the moment. Will DC keep Blissett in the starting 11 and use Harrison as a super sub again like we know he could be, so we have a threat on the bench if its not working out on the pitch? Also its interesting to see that like Mildenhall and Leadbitter, Blissett started vs Grimsby in the last game we met in our 1-0 victory away. Blissett wasnt at the club in August so wasnt involved in our 1st game against them. But Harrison was on the bench in both games and both times he wasnt used at all. So apart from video clips, Grimsby wouldnt know much about Harrison. Secret weapon?? 3 difficult choices for DC. If I was the guy to make this decision, I would pick Mildenhall, Leadbitter and Harrison to start. How about you guys?
Puddy, because he's got the shirt. He's reliable enough and Mildenhall's been carrying injuries quite a lot. Lockyer because he does a good job and is a bit more versatile and use Harrison as a super sub, otherwise I can see him doing something stupid again and that's the last thing we need. Harrison could make the difference, but we've done ok without him too and the thought of playing half a game at Wembley with ten men doesn't bear thinking about.

It's quite a long gap from the semis to the final... must be quite difficult timing it all just right...
gives time for tickets to be sold. can you imagine only a weeks notice to order tickets and for them to turn up before the big day? im glad its 2 weeks. but match sharpness may be an issue?
Players and staff are at Wembley today having the tour and getting all the selfie pics and laughs out the way so when they get to Wembley on Sunday, they can fully focus and not get distracted.
Final's like this can be a bit of a lottery and does depend who plays well on the day (and who gets a bit of luck) However, you are the better team of the 2, so I'm going for a Gas win. Enjoy the day out.
Was reading that the Grimsby manager is hoping to keep his squad together what ever the result ready for next season Great interview by Lee Mansell
