Not exactly been the season we had been hoping for with a few players hitting some small runs of form but the player of the season so far for me would be Grant Hall, with under two years left on his contract I would say it's definitely worth offering him a longer deal sooner rather than later.
Absolutely Grant Hall. He's one for the future and a possible long term R's captain if we can keep hold of him.
Think that's why we act now, the fans can see the quality he brings and hopefully she club too, leave it too long and others will too, as well as having a relatively short contract!
Agree with those above. Grant Hall by a country mile. Would like to see what a partnership with him and Caulker would look like.
They used to play regularly together in the Spurs U21 squad. You'd have thought that they would've kept hold of Caulker for that reason. They must've already targeted Hall before letting Caulker go and knew that they were familiar with each other.
With them both aged 24 and plenty of league games under their belts, you'd like to think the new manager would build the spine of the team with these two at the core of it. I know Caulker has had his well documented problems off the field, but the way I see it, we've invested money in him, he's got another 2 years on his contract left after this season is over, and perhaps the physical nature of the Championship will suit his style and allow him to rebuild his confidence.
Certainly Caulker isn't getting a lot of game time at Southampton so you do wonder why they decided to take him on loan......I know we got a loan fee for him but maybe we should consider bringing him back for the remainder of the season and give saints a portion of the loan fee back......
Hall at the moment without doubt but I expect Henry to rise above them all. He is already our best RB having watched him against Preston IF Henry has get to grips with Faurlin and Sandro then IMO it will be Henry again
I'd vote for Hall amongst a pretty thin list of candidates. Let me suggest another name, though: I thought Luongo was excellent until he was inexplicably dropped. Given our lack of goals in November, he's the sort of player who'd bring some much-needed creativity. And credit to the much-maligned (by me as much as anyone) Les and Chris for bringing both these players to QPR.
Although I was pleased when we got rid of Caulker, I think you may well have seen something that LF and CR obviously missed.
Yes, Grant Hall is a standout. But I feel Luongo would be standout if managers would reward him for his form rather than playing underperformers instead of him.
