We are fast approaching the end of the season now and I'm aware that some of you, well ok most of you, haven't watched all of Argyle's matches this season. That doesn't mean you haven't been either listening or following the games and can't have an opinion on Player of the Season. Who do you think it should be?

For me there have been a number of candidates as the season has gone on and for differing reasons. Carey is an obvious one for consideration but there have been others who have allowed him to play the way he has without stealing the limelight. So taking Carey as read the following is my list of possibles.

Carey has performed well a lot of the time. However, for me he has gone missing or misfired a few times as well. Not totally consistent throughout.

Threkeld has played in a number of positions and in fairness to him, even when not in a preferred one he has done well. He always gives you 100% and always puts himself on the block when required. The one time that stands out is when he put his head on the ball when he was odds on to get it kicked. Versatile I think sums him up and you would always want him to be in the side.

McCormick has done his thing as Luke pretty much always does. He is a keeper and as such he is always going to make a blooper at some stages. I think every keeper does in a season and you have to accept it will happen. However, how many times has he pulled off a save we all thought he wouldn't make. He has saved us points on numerous occasions and is in my book the best keeper in this league.

Jervis has had a decent season. Probably his best but does go missing on occasions and when it isn't happening it really isn't happening. Great effort but maybe not enough to win the vote.

Fox is another one who has quietly gone about his business. I think he is one who allows Carey a bit of free reign to do the spectacular. Without Fox Carey would not have looked as good as he has. He reads the game well and can pick a pass. Good football brain. I also think he covers more ground in a match than perhaps we might notice. If you vote Carey then you would have to vote Fox for the assist.

Bradley though has been Mr Consistent for the entire season. He above all the others for me has not let us down at any stage. His command at the back has been a treat to watch and I can't think of a bad game he has had. Not only has he commanded the defence but has weighed in with his goals. The moment of the season was him massaging a Liverpool players ear when he had seen him off. My man of the season all day long out of a bunch who have mostly performed very well anyway.

As you all know i haven't been to any of the games so I study your opinions which has been a great help.

Thanks to you Sensible for your above comments.

My vote would go to Sonny Bradley the Team wouldn't be where they are without him.

Goalkeeping is a Special Position so Luke McCormick is in the top 3. along with Carey.

This is the best Squad in years.

Thanks to Mr. Adams and the Coaching Staff.

I'm looking forward to Div. 1.

    You can Roger that...

Yes quite easy this year I think:

    1. Bradley by a country mile for all round contribution.
    2. Fox-the best footballer.
    3. Carey-Outstanding at times, If he could play like that all the time he would be in the Prem.
    4. Threkland -Bravest and hardest working.
    5. Luke-still the best in the league on his day.

    MIDs for Jervis &Taylor.

Think we have the basis for a decent team next season-dont think there is much difference between L1 and L2.

Sonny Bradley has certainly been 'Mr Consistency' this season.....a great General in defence.....but also 7 goals...and most of them have been big goals such as on Sunday.

Graham Carey can bring a bit of 'magic' to the occasion at times.....and because of that he ties up opposition players, who to their own peril mustn't allow him shooting space from up to 30 yards out... and also give away free kicks from that distance for him to take....plus his corner kicks.... as on Sunday, he has scored 13 times this season plus many assists.

Jake Jervis quietly goes about his job....more settled here than anywhere in his career....scored well last season and also has scored 10 goals this season.

Oscar Threlkeld has proved that Derek Adams was right to sign him full time last summer.....prefers playing on the right side where he is at his best....but does ok wherever he his asked to start from.....that diving header to take the ball off the foot of the attacker is a good example like sensible mentioned.

David Fox has played well in mid-field and does his job efficiently without too much fuss.....also allows Carey to do what he does best.

Luke McCormick has on the whole had a good season.....at times you feel that he is coming near to the end of his career.....but then he will do something outstanding....such as on Sunday when he brought out two great saves.

On the striker front we really come up short.... Ryan Taylor looks like he might fill the roll.....and so did Jimmy Spenser until he was injured.

    So my choice is

    1.....Sonny Bradley.
    2.....Graham Carey.
    3.....Oscar Threlkeld.

Spencer and Taylor are both excellent in the role they are given. It's hard graft up there on your own and yo take a lot of physical punishment but they can both hold the ball up and bring others into the play, Full marks to both of them, although not Player of the Season.

I'd go with Bradley too. In a team with a lot of strong performers, he has such a presence: intimidating I'd say although not in an unfair way. For me, he should be captain...

    Crickey!!!!

Reading the above comments I have to say I thought there may be a small difference of opinion if nothing else but it seems we virtually have a concensus. Couple more comments to come perhaps but it would appear Sonny Bradley is our man. I am sitting in my kitchen with some silver paper and sticky back plastic making the award as I type. To be honest this season has pretty much sorted itself out hasn't it. Is it worth asking who you would vote Manager of the Season at Argyle? I'd go for the catering manager myself...............faultless.

The catering manager needs a pat on the back if he or she can off-load all those Ginster pasties....I expect it's only the early ones who can get a Dewdney one outside the ground first.

Having had a look around the various sites it would seem that our list of those possibles is much the same as everyone elses list and in more or less the same order for the majority. I think the vote this year, not that I actually take part in a vote anyway, is going to be pretty much cut and dried, There is still time for a late push if one of the front runners makes a real splash between now and the last home game I suppose but it will take a bit of an effort to shift Bradley off the top of the ladder.

I would say for consistency then Sonny should have it - it has been really noticeable in games where he hasn't played.

Carey has been ok but over the season I would say that he has not been the key player we know he could be.

Threlkeld and McCormick are the only others who I think should be in the running.
