Llorente edges it for me, without his goals we would be sunk, he had to shoulder some considerable pressure when Baston flopped early season, and we saw how toothless we were when he got injured for a month out, so for me Llorente is rightly our player of the season, Siggy a very close second........ Some of the crosses he got on the end of were spectacular, especially that cross of Carol's.
Now there was a player. A true Jack the Manchester born left back who never left the area. He will be 75 in June, I think Leon will be the same. As Vic says once a jack always a jack.
Can only be Llorente ... with Siggy getting a very honourable mention and Baston gets the fickle finger of fate award ... I'm sure you can guess the finger
why not the morons who sanctioned the Baston, Van Der Hoorn, Fer etc etc and I can go on for 3-4 lines signings
Gylfi for me - always professional in the face of adversity and has played in every pl game this season (along with Fabianski).
Just been looking at player stats for the season. If you like trivia, try these: a) who has made third most appearances after Fabianski and Sigurdsson? b) who has been substituted the most from the starting XI? c) who is the fourth highest scorer with 4 goals? Answers later...

Sorry. 1 out of 3 for you, London jack. Taff, you've got 3 out of 3. Smart arse 33 appearances for Leroy Fer. Wayne Routledge substituted 17 times from 24 starts. http://www.worldfootball.net/team_performance/swansea-city/eng-premier-league-2016-2017/ And no red cards all season. Someone brought that up recently but can't remember who.
Llorente had 4 multi goal games in which we won , 3 of them we won by 1 goal , and had the only goal in a 1 - 0 win ...none of the goals were from penalties or free kicks . Sigurdsson is a fabulous player , but Llorente was our most valuable player this season ... he was a godsend IMO
For a team to be successful you need more than just relying on two or three players. We have too many one game wonders that Clem and his coaching staff needs to work more with or maybe send some of them out on loan to a championship team. We need to recruit 4 or 5 experienced good quality players that we know will fit into the squad and we also need to promote some players from the U23 squad who have won their league and won cups this season and done the club proud......But there is one blockage to do any of this .....Jenkins.....He has to approve anything we do and quite frankly you might just as well have a trained chimp as chairman as it could do better.....
Llorente as good as he is was only effective if Gylfi was on fire. We'd have been dead and buried a 100 times over this season if it wasn't for Gylfi. As usual, the genius delivers when it really mattered, starting with that free kick at Old Trafford.
