Possibilities For Our First 4 Games

As we all know, the league's schedulers have finally decided to stop sodomising our club and we actually have a chance to get off to a good start this season.

Leicester (A)
Norwich (H)
Swansea (H)
Villa (A)

Here are the possible outcomes for us after 4 games. What would you accept as a bare minimum?

WWWW (12 points)
WWWD (10 points)
WWWL (9 points)

I put these in the 'not impossible, but quite unrealistic' category. If we achieved any of these starts we'd be completely buzzing to say the lease.

WWDD (8 points)
WWDL (7 points)

Either of these would be very solid for me and what we should be aiming/hoping for.

WWLL (6 points)
WDDD (6 points)

I would happy with either of these. Although, the 3 draws would be frustrating.

WDDL (5 points)

This is the minimum point of acceptability for me. Not a flyer, but still not a disaster either. Definitely hoping for better than this.

WDLL (4 points)

This would be below par, even by our modest standards. At least we'd have a win.

DDDD (4 points, and lots of stuff being thrown at the telly by me)
WLLL (3 points, with a call for some counselling)
DDDL (3 points and broken lounge room furniture)
DDLL (2 lousy points, a claim on my home insurance and me saying 'the EPL is overrated crap anyway')
DLLL (1 ****ing point followed by Di Canio coming out and saying 'see, I wasn't so bad and I never had that kind of budget')
LLLL (zippo and work being started on Advocaat and Short effigies)

 

Cannot see anything but 12 points to be honest. A doddle.

 

I've bet on us to win the 1st 3, so you can completely rule that out!

 

Swansea will be no push over...

As the squad is getting assembled, it's looking more promosing for a season not fighting relegation...Thats not a bad run of games to get the season underway...But as its SAFC, god knows how they will pan out..

I'm not a betting man, and if i was, SAFC would be the team i would never bet on...You just can't tell wtf they are gonna do..

 

That's the best start we have had in years.there is no excuses now

 

2 wins out of them will be massive, a solid start......anything else will be a bonus! We must not get greedy! Generally, anything slightly more than a point a game will be sufficient. I will settle for draws away from home, doesn't matter who we play, as long as we start picking up wins at home, that's the main thing.

Not that we could have relied on Whickham to get ,say, 2 goals from 4 games, if there's not a signing, can we get the goals that will convert to points ?

 

Is this our best first four games to start a season? It looks pretty juicy to me fellas.. Confidence is everything and if we beat Leicester then I can see us winning against Norwich and Villa with a draw against Swans so 10 points from first 4. I've had a delicious couple of bourbons so a little optimistic I know lol. The General will add a few jigsaws to the puzzle and we hit the ground running then we'll be good this season.. For me it's all about wanting to play for the manager, we have a bloke who commands respect and the players want to play for him and not let us down.. I know we need to be sound technically, but in regards to man management we have the best manager I've seen in my short time as a fan

I want at least 7, and if Fer and M'Vila sign I genuinely think it's plausible.

10 even with those 2, the difference those 2 would make would be incredible.

As it stands, I fancy 5, and that would be solid enough.

 

Agree Vince, we gotta take advantage mate and hit the ground running.. Not only that we are due for the SOL to be a fortress again!

 

If they do sign I'd be surprised if they both start in the first 4 games.

 

Agreed, but Fer should be ready to go immediately. He alone with Lens should make an incredible difference.

Giacc is fit too so we are far better off than we ended the season.

 

10 points would probably have us top after 4 games.

Whys that mate? Have they not had any pre season at all? I know they need to get upto speed but i'd imagine they'd start before their fourth game..

I'll have a drink of what you're having, 10 points? While seeing us as a chance for that, we,re Sunderland and it wouldn't be a season without looking like we,re in bother, defo getting excited at signings and potential ones, 1 more AM and a 15+ striker and we,ll worry a few

Woodstock 10% ers.. Bloody dear but had a win on the wknd! Leicester away I'm not scared of either Norwich and villa mate. Will do well to take a point off swans.. We've started the season off so poorly of late so we're due a decent start to the season mate! 'Fake it till you make it' that's my motto for our start to the season and that's why I believe we'll pick up 10 points! I live on the Gold Coast mate are you in WA?
