Everton looking good against Spurs as they did against us. Howard playing really well. With all the wierd results about, I'm thinking we're not such a bad side after all. Confidence growing for tomorrow.....

....or is it the beer talking?

Is that what they said? I thought he may have broken his ankle or badly damaged ankle ligaments?

I want Everton to win this, keep Stones & have a good season. Had we not played them already, I wouldn't have been half as kind.....

There really is a job waiting at BT Sport on their commentary team for Niall Quinn...

I'm no referee and I fully admit to have not seen the incident but I get from this statement that 'he won the ball first' means after he may have clattered the player. Is this still not a foul, regardless of 'winning the ball' or not, because the player has been reckless and not ensured the safety of a player - or something like that? I remember Sunderland clattering our players two seasons ago and injurying them but apparently it was okay because they got the ball first - except it wasn't.

If that waffle makes sense can any qualified officials answer it?

Like when Kevin Davies said in second leg of Vitesse game that it was typical of Saints' fastidious preparation that Ron sent us on a pre-season tour of the Netherlands to get to grips with the Dutch opposition we were facing. That's the sort of level of detail we went into. And the commentator pointed out that the draw for the Europa qualifiers hadn't been made at that point.

The aim of the tour was to get them familiar with European football and yes, the tour was in Holland. I think we knew what he meant.
