So I get my internet connection sorted out in my new pad tomorrow and my laptop decides to die on me. I will be logging on in a limited capacity for the next few weeks until I can afford to replace it. Thanks again everyone for loading our thread up with some top mixtures of different grooves. I'm going to miss my Fridays/Saturdays night music sessions that we often get on. For me it's the only way to unwind after a busy weeks slog. Please keep em coming
Yes, Iv had to learn to watch telly again lol! I have been relying on family and friends for my online time. I just cant do smartphone interweb. I have an oldish sony xperia android phone. It has such a small screen and being I'm over 6'2ft with bigish hands you just cant type on it tbh. Having just moved it will be at least a month until I can think about a new laptop. I'm old school and prefer them over a tablet. Much prefer a keyboard me!
One of the most interesting lyricists of recent years is James Mercer of The Shins, I like to try and decypher his songs and i'm pretty sure this one is about 9/11 and "the war on terror".
I wish my school plays were as good as this one...There is The Donner Party that crossed the USA from east to west to find the pacific coast, then there is Joan of Arc and lastly The Spanish Conquistadors. I think that the song is about imperialism, but again you have to think about the words.
Now me! The SSD drive on my new laptop gave up this week so back to venerable HP laptop for a bit until I decide whether to buy a new SSD or a standard drive. This is one of the songs off a brilliant album by Robyn Hitchcock, highly recommended
