Off Topic Radio 1 Big Weekend

After what has happened in Manchester my wife no longer wants to go to the big weekend.

I therefore have available for the Sunday, 2 tickets 2 shuttle bus tickets and parking for Leconfield

Im looking to get my money back for these if any body is interested pm me

 

Can't say I blame her mate. My mrs was saying the same. She's decided to go now but it's still touch and go

 

It's a terrible shame people feel this way. Something they'll have looked forward to for so long and now they've had that taken away from them.

I've decided to still go as the security will be heightened and it'll probably be safer now than before this week but I understand those opting not to as well.

 

The only thing that can be said when it comes to doing stuff, is carry on as normal. Don't let the bastards beat you, it's the only way!

 

Honestly, the chances of anything happening there are so low its negligible. You're more at risk in a town than an event like that.

I understand her concern, and she needs to do what's right for her of course.

 

Think I read earlier there'll be a police and army presence at pick up points and the event itself.

 

Have to say we were offered tickets yesterday, someone felt the same way. My Mrs turned them down as she felt the same way. I've felt pretty flat this week, so I'd probably have done the same.

I was sat in Railway Inn beer garden at New Ellerby last night.
Some event staff turned up and where discussing reversing the the buses/caoches into the car park, getting people of , security search then getting back on and on their way.

 

Our lass is working Sunday, but if anyone has Saturday tickets going pm me please

 

Someone approached our lass about the lack of hotel rooms in Hull and would we put someone up for 2 nights for the Big Weekend, she agreed and now I'm stuck with Rita Ora in the box room and I have to share the shower with her, still, we all stand together in adversity.

 

It will be interesting to see if any bands drop out.

Oh and little mix are now on first at twelve. Seems strange.

 

Kings of Leon are headliners for Sunday.

 

I don't do music concerts and all that. I much prefer a pint in a quiet pub. It's something that just doesn't appeal to me. I like music but...just can't be arsed really.

Anyway, my missus got tickets for the big weekend. Got people both days to go with her.

But now her sister doesn't want to go on the Sunday. Totally understandable. She's worried. So my missus has asked me to go with her.

Of course I will. Even though it's something that will do my head in (i don't want katy perry ffs, give me the smiths, cure, pulp).

Well she's not missing out because some pathetic sad acts wants to blow stuff up. **** em all. I'll be there on Sunday. Just hope there's a beer tent nearby!

But like I said, totally understandable people not going. I wish I wasn't! But I am going to be there for someone else.

And to think, i was gonna sit with a few beers and have control of the telly all sunday. Ffs!

I just wanted to cheer you up.

 

They are targeting youth and you think this is not a possible target (or negligible), why, Happy. The approaches, at the right time- coming or going - are a huge concern if there is another bomb out there; and the powers-that-be seem to think there might be.
