When they start probing each other with their fists in the ring, that's when our usual interloping wums will swarm over here for their input.

What an utter bellend. If the Commonwealth Athletics were in London instead of Brum or Pool then the Commonwealth Games wouldn't be in Brum or Pool.
London centric view, wanting to rob any other city the chance to see investment and sports tourism.

This is just like the railways, with Crossrail costing £45billion (in total) but the North can't have electrified lines, instead we get ****ty HS2 which nobody wants.

We'd love a High Speed railway in Wales, instead we get ****ty Arriva trains. It takes 4 hrs to go from N.Wales to Cardiff, I think you should consider yourselves very lucky tbh.

Except the High Speed train only goes to London via a couple of places and only knocks 20mins off. All for £2b, seems a great deal that :emoticon-0138-think

We still have ****ty trains for everything else. Takes 2hrs+ just to cross the Pennines. Hence why we'd prefer electrified lines instead of HS2.

But anyway you've just emphasised my point. The rest of the country can get stuffed as long as London benefits, even from a sporting event that isn't held there according to some people.

McGregor v Mayweather on Saturday ... predictions, thoughts, opinions ??

They've approved the use of lighter gloves which might help the more aggressive McGregor

But Mayweather being Mayweather will be all about evade evade evade

Not sure how it's gonna go, McGregor will be in top notch fitness so could last the full distance without punching himself out

Mayweather might catch him if he's too recklessly adventurous though

But McGregor might land something in the first 2 rounds and put Mayweather down

    I went to both extremes.

Bet 1) McGregor gets point deduction and a knockout/tko in first 4 rounds.

    Bet 2) McGregor doesn't land a punch in first 4 rounds <laugh>

It's mayweathers like..always a chance of one good punch etc but I just can't see it.

    Imo it's a bit pathetic.

If you Google up McGregor amateurboxing record you will find this lad never even fought at senior Irish level never mind and international boxing standard.

I can find some either intermediate or youth regional boxing win but nothing else.

His first recorded mma was at 18 where he has been since. 11 years at it.

Now.... Mayweather is toast, we all know it. He has been fighting for money not titles and has been licking guys who were useless barring Manny who he had to eventually fight for big money.

Imo Mayweather must be desperate for cash but I think his hands are busted up and this will be a distance fight to go on points or McGregor will wall down exhausted by round 8.

Mayweather will tuck his chin behind that raised shoulder and let McGregor push his upper arm for a few rounds. He will run rings about McGregor in terms of ring craft.

99% of observers give mcgregor a puchers chance if mayweather lets the guy hit him...

We must remember that McGregor went in with Diaz and punched himself out in 2 rounds the first time and fought to a points decision second time....that was a real fight of sourts and McGregor could take Diaz out. I am even doubtful us didn't fix the second one.

I must say if they take a cool 100mil apiece fair play to them.

Wise decision, it's actually hard to call. McGregor is an unknown quantity in boxing and it's an unusual match up

The sensationalist in me wants the upset result with McGregor putting him down early

But the realist tells me that Mayweather will do his usual and probably get the points win or maybe put him down with some counter-punching late on

Both of them piss me off for different reasons
