We'd have to show some fight on the pitch first. I see the game being 1-1 with 30 seconds left and Joe will pop up and score the winning goal for them
The use of the word "battle" in the title of this thread, would infer a spirited, tenacious, life or death struggle for survival, with an input of great personal sacrifice and commitment. A built in desire to not fail ingloriously. A sort of Dunkirk meets Rourke's Drift. So, is this what we have at Swansea City Football Club ? Answers on the proverbial postcard. A far more appropriate word would have been 'capitulation'. The Club is in,(rapid),decline now. Nothing seems to be going right either on, or off, the field. There are many reasons for this, but for me, the rot started with the shabby way Michael Laudrup was treated. I fully concur with Alan Curtis when he said that "Swansea City haven't been the same since Michael Laudrup left". Garry Monk's sojourn showed early promise, but it all went pear shaped for him as well. In came Mr.Guidolin, but he wasn't the answer. Poor appointment. An even poorer appointment was Mr. Bradley. Two decent individuals, but sadly out of their depth. The latest managerial appointment Paul Clement, is, after a promising start, also now finding he is a little out of his depth, and the team are teetering on the edge of losing their place in the ludicrously labelled 'Premier League'. The stench of decline, and worse, has permeated the structure and very fabric of the Club for some time now, and it seems that chickens are coming home to roost. Relegation is almost assured, and out of our hands. Should Hull avoid the drop at our expense, a circle will have been closed. Having beaten us THREE times this season, who could dispute that they don't deserve to stay up. If, as I suspect, the team do return to The Championship, I won't lose any sleep over it, but I will enjoy the omelettes.
Everton reportedly going to offer Gylfi £140,000 a week to join them. I still can't work out why the dickhead that's in charge still plays him on the wing. Thanks for the memories Gylfi
I'll agree there's not much fight in our squad, but Clement is adding to the issues with some very poor decision making, playing Siggy on the wing is stupidity, not playing Leon much this season is another issue, then not dropping Fer when he's poor is another, and why hasn't Kingsley been given some time at LB to sharpen Mawson? Don't start me on Clement's substitute strategy...............
Can't see it as long as Clement keeps playing him on the wing. I want to see this line up v Stoke --------------------------Fabianski------------------ Naughton-------Fernandez--------Amat-------Olsson ---------------Leon----------Cork--------- ---------Ayew--------Gylfi----------Routs -----------------------Baston--------------- Llorente should be on the bench for me. Clearly isn't fit yet, and Mawson needs dropping for his big time bollock yesterday.
It is not over yet.....The only thing that we do know is that the last relegation spot will be taken by Hull or ourselves and as long as that stays the case then it's 50 - 50 chance of staying up......I know it is difficult but we must keep supporting the club and try to stay positive as much as we possibly can.....COYS
If you look at the major contribution of the modern manager/ coach it is the ability to change play by introducing the substitute. be it an attacking or defensive change this in many ways can change the coarse of a game. And yes it is something which seems to be missing in our current manager for whatever reason. All iI know is it had better change soon or we are doomed.
Agree Swan. Mourinho did exactly that at 2-0 yesterday. Chelsea brought an attacker on so he took Lingaard off and put Carrick on immediately to give that extra defensive element. What pissed me off Saturday is that he waited until 82mins to bring Ayew on.

I'm pleased to read the offers coming in for Siggy , I guess he had nothing in his contract giving him a get out of the Championship free card if we get relegated like a lot of players do I think .
Siggy has 3 years left on his contract, so £15 Million will not get him, could well be in a bidding war between Everton and Southampton, Jinx will be rubbing his hands, Championship rebuild here we come............... £25 Million will see him go, we could buy a brand new Championship team with that................
