It seems inappropriate to 'like' comments like these. Sympathies to you both.

Ernie and Muffin, I'm welling up reading this. I don't know if either of you will remember a thread I made, it was something like 'The state of the NHS' ? I talked about how well the staff there cared for him under very difficult circumstances etc...

Anyway, thankfully my Dad's still here. We got him into sheltered accommodation, it's a really nice place actually, but that's not to say he's doing great, he isn't. The Doctors at Castle Hill, reckon he has prostate cancer and because his mobility is so bad, they think he may have bone cancer. He's already been diagnosed as having Parkinsons ffs .

Dad's 83 now and as with Muffin and Ern, he took me to my first game (he tells me it was Leyton Orient, but I'm ****ing sure it was Norwich), and he still asks when we'll go again?

All I have to say is, soon Dad x

My dads last live game was a few years ago when I took him to the KC but failing eyesight meant he relied on Humberside for hs fix. He was very pissed off that the Blackburn game was on am and hospital radio meant he couldn't listen to it, he really was City 'til he died. Thanks to all for listening and the very heartfelt replies.

Hope that you both get there together Kemps. I really do.

I've got another dear, close relative currently receiving end of life palliative care in the Queen's Centre at Castle Hill.

The nursing care and support he is receiving there is humbling.

I've raised a few glasses in the last week. And I'll no doubt be raising a few more before too long.

And some of those will be for the wonderful staff at both Castle Hill and Hull Royal.

It heartens me that there are some good, good people in a world that often seems ****.

Deepest sympathy to Ernie and Muffin. Your Dad's gave you plenty of memories, not only of the times you spent together but also of this great Club.

The nurses and all the staff are fantastic in the queens centre at castle hill Ernie...They go far far beyond the call of duty .i love them to bits.

I hope your relative who is in there is pain free.

Remember everyone who has lost a loved one....every time you smile they smile with you..

Very important that you live for them as they would so want even though it's not that easy

My condolences also to Muffin and Ernie on the recent loss of your Dads. I lost mine in the war 71 years ago. Never had a chance to go to a City game with him. I envy all of you who still can go with your Dads and share a drink with them afterwards and talk about the match. Enjoy it while you can lads....I hope your Dad makes it to another game with you Kemps. See you soon Dad!!
