I have started a Twitter poll, asking Charlton fans which one player they would most like to see booted out in January. So far, Roger Johnson has 100% of the votes. Mind you - he was the only candidate I listed.
Adequate cover for a league 1 side. Couldn't care for him swearing at Charlton fans - obviously he should be able to control himself but he had grief the whole game. As I was taught if you can't take it don't give it. He may play 2 or 3 times before his contract up and will be forgotten about.
Why in hell's name would any competent manager play 'the relegator' when the U23's have two competent centre backs in their ranks?
Injuries. He's also not as bad as people say. He is **** and a ****er but not as bad as people make out.
Maybe Robinson doesn't know about Johnson's telling fans not to ******* come if they don't ****** like it.
Johnson is shot as a player IMO. His last decent contribution was when Luzon first came in. Since returning from India I've yet to see him put a decent performance in.
Johnson is going to be another expensive mistake - paying him off won't come cheap and no club is going to pay a fee for him.
Yeah, Johnson won't buckle. He knows interest in him will be low, so imagine he will be happy to sit it out. Just to think KM celebrated the fact he was given 18 months. Johnson probably thought he was still drunk when he heard that.
Johnson must be on 8k-10k a week at Charlton, if reports of other player salaries are to be believed.
People would be shocked at the size of some of the contracts Meire has dished out. I had a couple of DMs on Twitter.
Not when Tex is on 13k a week JBG was on more than that last season too, as was Igor. Watt is also on similar.
We signed Tex from Liege who probably paid him a similar amount. We signed Johnson from Pune City. I imagine he would of taken whatever was offered to not live in that **** hole.
Both deals had one thing in common though - Baldrick Meire arranged them. Don't forget we were absolutely desperate when we re-signed Roger - having rejected him as not good enough barely months before
