Hire a car, 2 hour 12 minutes drive and you get to eat cheese and pick tulips all over the country.

Don't mention taxi unions to me. To say I'm not a fan would be an understatement.

This is not Groningen's stadium and would be a nightmare to get to if you are using public transport, I would not go and I live here! I have looked up how to get there and involves 1 train and 3/4 buses which would mean coming from Utrecht I would need to wait until 5.30am the following day to get the train back assuming the 3/4 buses were starting that early.

But don't let me stop you :emoticon-0100-smile

Eamon and Mark if the other game is possible I can meet you and travel with you as I have a travel card that allows me to take up to 4 people with me at 40% discount.

R's to play Dutch top-flight sides as part of Holland tour

    • R's to play Dutch champions PSV Eindhoven during Holland tour
    • QPR will also play FC Groningen
    • Rangers travel to Holland for nine-day tour on 3rd July
QPR will play Dutch sides PSV Eindhoven and FC Groningen during their pre-season tour to Holland in July.

Rangers travel to the Netherlands on 3rd July, and will lock horns with Eredivisie champions PSV on Friday 8th July, kicking off at 7pm (local time) at RKSV Driel.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's charges will then take on Tjaronn Chery’s former club, FC Groningen – who finished the Dutch top-flight season in seventh position - at De Langeleegte Stadium, Veendam, on Monday 11th July, kicking off at 7pm (local time).

    Thanks a lot Beth.

Just had a quick look at the venue for the PSV match and it looks like it is on the outskirts of Arnhem. That is quite near you Flanman in Utrecht? It is about an hour by train from Amsterdam airport so that is the game I will be going to. Thoughts Stainesey and Flanman???? Book a hotel in Amsterdam and just get the train to Arnhem?

But more importantly, do they, or have they ever supported Queens Park Rangers?

I doubt that i got this completely right!. Eindhoven are a little bit on the good side!

Perhaps they will take pity & not play a full side.

To any of you that attend, have a great time.

I can't understand how we are having a proper pre season organised!

I'm not allowed to say that anymore. Two people found it tiresome and unfunny, knowing how the Ban Hammer gets wielded here I decided to shut the f*ck up. I now contribute to the Off Topic music thread and post vids of my favourite choons instead. More mellow there than the RIP thread.

Were any of those two people you've mentioned moderators?

How many posters have been banned from this board this year with this seemingly out of control 'Ban Hammer?'

Unless you visit an Amsterdam coffee bar first, in which case you get to eat tulips and try to pick cheese all over the country

    Hi Eamon,
Shame it's not in Eindhoven as that's more straight forward, it is just over an hour from Utrecht and about 1 hr 30 mins from Amsterdam to the venue. You are correct about getting a train to Arnhem and we would also need to get a bus or cab at the other end, one thing to bear in mind we would be traveling at the busiest time of the day.

I could just meet you in Arnhem Flanman? I was thinking of flying Friday morning, staying just the one night in a hotel in Arnhem (Holiday Inn Express Arnhem looks very reasonable) and getting the train back the following morning to Amsterdam for an early evening flight home. Is that doable?

Really fancy the PSV game, Fing, but falls at yet another bad time in my shift roster meaning that me and Mrs Staines have to work on getting days off......will let you know if I can get things worked out but at the moment looking doubtful.
Bloody shift work pays well but can be a pain in the arse.
