Hope there isn't another, but it's on for the next 6 weeks so why not have a thread. Opening ceremony on now and England v Fiji follows. Southern Hemisphere teams have to be favourites, but hoping England do well.
We are in an unusually hard group in that there isn't one truly easy game. We have to be on it from the get go and gain some momentum. You can't look past NZ but there must be at least 4 others including us that can genuinely win it. Home advantage could be crucial but also the refs will have a big bearing on things as the northern and southern hemisphere refs have slightly dif interpretations of some of the rules much like european football refs maybe whistle happy whilst british refs may let certain tackles go unpunished...
A win is a win. Could've been tougher, but they lacked discipline in the first half. Put that down to nerves. It'll get tougher.
Not much of a rugby fan but I do know that Fiji are no pushovers and a fair few make up the NZ squad. They could upset the outcome of this group.
I know mate. It was a touch of sarcasm at that point when it was looking a bit uncomfortable, that's all
I absolutely love the big rugby union internationals involving England, so will be watching this tournament very closely in the coming weeks..
Looked ****e last night but the important thing is getting the win. Had a very good last 10 minutes to make sure of the bonus points. We'll come across much harder opposition than Fiji who I thought looked pretty poo by their standards. Our forwards need to improve in the scrum, lineout and breakdown play or we're ****ed early.
As I can now say I am well pizzed off with Football, Rugby here I come. Even though Armitage, Tuiligi, Cipriani and Hartley should playing. Robshaw was useless at the breakdown
