Probably picked it up from Rafa Benitez and Pako Ayesteran from his time at Liverpool. Maybe they used the word at Valencia too. lol
https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-07-02/mauricio-pellegrino-southampton-new-manager-club-ambition Not new...taken from his speech when he signed. He expresses his thanks to Pochettino, so I suppose he means thanks for recommending Saints. He said before that Poch had a fondness for the club....obviously not enough to stay but nice to know none the less. Have two hopes for the new manager...one, he's successful and two, he breaks the club record for recent managers and stays for over two years. Be nice to have some stability....and not to have every preseason being unsettled.
With the quick turn over of managers in the EPL it would be lovely to have one complete a contract. Saying that, last six months and your in the top ten of longest running gaffers!
Looks like Eric Black might be staying on,alongside his two usual coaches he works with. I sincerely hope he has the smallest amount of input feasibly possible. I maintain the dour football, last season, was not all down to Puel. The style was to similar to the way all the clubs he's been at previously. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/sa...oom_team__with_Eric_Black_staying_on/?ref=rss Echo reporting he is
Claims he is popular amongst the players. As far as coaches are concerned I'm not sure how any supporter can have strong opinions one way or another. Their contributions are difficult for an on looker to quantify
Not got too much of an opinion on Black, but if the players like him and MP thinks he could use him for his experience of English football, then no complaints from me.
There seems to be a clique that have expressed hatred for Eric Black, but haven't really explained why? Perhaps he can be our PTB (Person To Blame) and take the heat off of MoPo2 when things go wrong?
Like you, I noticed people moaning on about Black (even before he actually arrived at the ground), but not heard one reason why....apart from one person who referred to that meeting where the media tried to set him up....and he subsequently proved that he'd picked up his own bill because he had a bad feeling about it.
http://outsideoftheboot.com/2017/07/11/does-mauricio-pellegrino-fit-the-bill-at-southampton/ This was actually quite an interesting analysis of Pellegrino and how he fits with Southampton....then the author ruined his credibility by referring to Fonte playing at the back for us and saying that Maya is much loathed.
Video interview with Mauricio on his first week and the camp in Austria. https://southamptonfc.com/news/2017-07-10/video-mauricio-pellegrino-interview-austria-training-camp
The very lovely Mrs Godders has described Mauricio as the thinking woman's bit of crumpet. PS We could do with some of that rain.
I really like Mauricio's smile Come to south west Wales - we had a really heavy shower this morning. though that's been about it!
His association with Aston Villa and their near miraculous fall exit from the Premier League would probably have a lot to do with it. People don't tend to like other people who are associated with failure. They entirely forget that he is, and has been, quite successful in his entire career in football.
Yes, but doesn't explain the hatred. I'd be wary of someone who performed badly elsewhere (though not necessarily assume they would repeat the failure), but some people (notably on Saintsweb) seem to regard him as the antichrist as if he'd beaten up Academy lads or stolen some transfer money.
I think you're judging rabid 'online' football fans as ordinary reasoning people. Bit of a mistake there, Fran.
