Wenger is the functioning owner and chairman of AFC imo. The other guys just bare the title. Wenger is untouchable. No one on that board can tell him nothing unfortunately. The man is here as long as he wants to be.
Not at all : Wenger stays. Sanchez to Spurs. Wenger takes Sissoko as part payment for Sanchez (we know he loves French players - they conform to his 'philosophy' ) . Even the supporters will be happy. ArsenalFanTV Ty still has Wenger, and PIXIE can ease his altruistic discomfort knowing that Sanchez has gone for lower wages to a club playing better football.
They are happy with Wenger's results, which translates to lovely CL money year in year out and packed out stadiums, regardless if we've been competitive or not. Take that away and you see those vultures come in for their pound of flesh. But Wenger is a stubborn arrogant sod of their ilk, so they deserve each other whether it's in sickness or in health.
If Sanchez goes, it will not be to another English side next year. I think we will take the financial hit rather than seeing that happen.
I wouldn't be so sure, if he refuses to go abroad like Van Persie I can see them selling to City or Chelsea rather than letting him go for free. I just really hope it's not to Mourinho
Depends on how desperate Pep or Conte want him. City have already strengthened before the Summer transfer window and already have a strong front lineup, getting Sanchez would congest an already strong area. Chelsea probably need him a bit more but already have Hazard, Wilian and Pedro that can play the wings. But they have the money and Sanchez is one of the best players in the league, if i was them i'd go for him too.
Im sure Conte/Pep do want Alexis. I don't think that will happen though. I think Bayern/PSG are more likley destinations if he is going to leave.
Arsenal are adamant that they will not sell him to a premier league rival. I believe them on that. Also Bayern are apparently out due to his wages. Remember Arsenal are offering him something like £300k per week. Another thing in all of this is that Sanchez might be thinking, actually I'm 28 and being offered a 3-4 year deal at Arsenal on big wages in a city that I love, might as well stay here. The biggest thing so far for me though is that no bids have come in for Sanchez and he's made up his mind. Surely that means he's staying ?
IF (and it's a big if) Sanchez stays and signs a new contract then that would be the best deal Wenger has done. Do we really believe that Arsenal are really going to get Lacazette, Lemar, and (according to the papers today) Mbappe for £125m. This would mean us spending £210m in this window, which if true may sway Sanchez and Ozil to stay and sign. Or will the splurge be funded by selling: Sanchez to City £50m, Giroud to Everton £20m Gibbs for £10m Szczesny £20m Wallcott £25m Ox £30m Chambers £15m and Bellerin £40m which all adds up to £210m ! Coincidence ?
A bit apprehensive of the 300k a week salary. Great if it works and we keep Sanchez but bad if we can't balance the books. Are these crazy salaries going to end up making everyone suffer in the long run? Funny how we're talking of Government being put under pressure to change its 1% increase in salaries of public sector workers, while we casually talk of offering Sanchez 300k a week when he's already on a fortune. The world has gone crazy.
I would keep Giroud and definitely Ox. Giroud offers us another option up front and he scored pretty much whenever he was used last season. Ox also had a really good season (in a poor season overall for the club) and he finally looks like he's going to be the player we all hoped. Players who have cooked their goose at Arsenal though: Walcott Gibbs Szczesny They should definitely be sold this window.
The thing is.. I would take that deal happily. Sanchez would be a miss but Lacazette, Mbappe and Lemar/Mahrez is one outrageous front three.
The best news right now is that no one is talking about Sanchez, and as far as we know, no bids have been made for him, by PL clubs or otherwise. At this stage I am starting to lean towards you keeping him. Ozil I am less sure of though.
I think they will both stay. Ozil has just renewed his executive box at Emirates and has never really made any noises about wanting to leave anyway. The only reason it came up was because we let his contract run to its last year. As you say, no bids for Sanchez and Arsenal adamant that they will not sell to City or Chelsea. Bayern are out because they can't match his wages. Arsenal are offering him something like £300k per week. He's not going to get that at many other places. Also, he has said that his mind is made up. If nobody has bid for him, then surely he has made his mind up to stay ?
You'd better be willing to cough up £80m then. And even if you do, that would only be enough for us to just about consider it.
