Former Tottenham midfielder Sandro and ex-Gunner Donovan were involved in an altercation just before half-time with the Lions already 3-1 ahead and on their way to their fourth successive Professional Development League win. Noah Chesmain and Kris Twardek put Millwall two goals up before Mide Shodipo pulled one back. Striker Harry Smith (above) marked his return from injury by making it 3-1, his fourth goal of the season, before the home side were reduced to 10 men. Christian Mbulu and Alfie Pavey completed the rout at QPR’s Harlington training ground. There was further good news for Millwall as Shaun Hutchinson and Shaun Cummings again played and they should be in contention to feature for the first team at Oxford this weekend.
What a dick, some example he sets for the younger players - wish we could unload him in January - so the U23 red card would also prevent him playing for the 1st team?
Does he receive full pay when serving a suspension? If he does, it just epitomises what is wrong with football nowadays.
I'm told he had intentions of completing a full game but his wife signaled to him from the stands, that their ebay purchases of 60% off airfare tickets were confirmed and that an immediate departure was necessary. The poor gentleman had no other option but to get himself sent off in order to make the flight. Sure, I can see that. He is of course, a family man and the fact that they had only visited The Maldives thrice in the past was all the incentive he needed. I don't understand how members can't be more understanding.
Since being on the bench he's had some injury problems. Maybe playing for the U23'was meant to be easing him back to the Bench again!
This isn't the first time he's been sent off for the reserves I believe. Fighting a teenager. What a clunge.
There is obviously a contractual issue with him, whereby the club are not willing to play him in league matches - probably some outrageous appearance bonus clause. I wouldn't play him ahead of Borysiuk or Luongo anyway. The sooner we get rid, the better.
David Wheater waived his appearance fees last season as he was playing for a contract at Bolton. Sandro of course has the right to milk the stupid deal he has been given but he's certainly made enough through not playing for the club to accept something similar if that's the issue. We aren't going up or down with or without him so **** him. He's really nothing special even on the rare occasions he's fit.
For once we have an excellent young prospect and he's being brought through the right way. It will nark fans when he has a great 20 minutes off the bench and doesn't start the next game but I think they're doing what's best for his development long term.
