Really hope he pulls through and makes a full recovery. Thoughts with his family at this horrible time.
Next bulletin from the hospital in Grenoble will be at 11.00 French time (10.00 GMT) Let's hope for positive news
BBC Breaking News ‏@BBCBreaking1m Michael #Schumacher to be kept in coma; "we can't really say when he'll recover," doctor adds
Only one operation was done he is still in bad shape if it's hour by hour, blood clots to his brain was the main priority to sort out but it sounds like no major skull fractures. It's best to follow Gary Hartstein on these things as he knows how good/bad this can be in the short/long term. But the part of the brain they're sorting out will heavily effect his body function...
From Schumi's facebook page: doctors confirm schumacher is still critical doctors confirm they had to minize pressure on - Schumacher's head live from grenoble: Schumacher's accident happened with high speed schumacher had to be placed into artificial coma, he was operated just once schumacher "If he had the accident without a helmet, he would not be here now
Everybody send all the positive thoughts you can his way, you can pull through Schumi. The medically induced coma is standard procedure and for the best to help relieve pressure on the brain, he will be kept in it till the doctors feel he is strong enough to be brought round. I just hope that he doesn't have brain damage or any long term cognitive or neurological problems but that might be likely with such a severe trauma.
No offence, but if I'm going to send messages of prayer out they'll probably be to the kids getting murdered in Syria rather than a world famous sports star known for being rather unsportsman like, I don't wish him any ill and hope he does recover, but I'm not one for false sentiment.
Indeed. My feelings are similarly ambivalent. I do feel for his family and hope for the best but if not, then he will have ended life the way he loved to live it.
Senna may have died doing what he loved, but I'm sure he'd have preferred to live, get married, have a family and enjoy all the good stuff in life. He never got that chance.
No further updates on Schumacher's condition are forthcoming tonight, I believe he'll be in the induced coma for 48hrs, but I can't remember where I've read that.
Well then you do yourself a complete disservice. Why can't you offer your prayers to Michael? Seemingly you think that misdemeanors on the track and his status off the track is just reason to ignore him. Your perceptions and priorities in life are clearly disturbed when you cannot realise that at the end of the day there is a father and husband there fighting for his life in a French hospital. To refuse to set aside previous conceptions of Schumacher is petty at best, repulsive at worst. I for one am gutted at the news. He was and remains an inspiration to me - my one and only childhood hero. His acute attention to detail and dedication to EVERYTHING in his life, most importantly his family and his charity work, is something we can all admire and learn from. I am praying for his well being and my thoughts are with his family at the moment.
Ignore him he just dislikes him from his F1 days bitter really if you see some of his comments about Schumacher, Webber and Alonso. Shame it wasn't him that hit his head against a rock really.
Let's not turn this in to the age-old Schumacher debate or crap flinging match. We've been over that ground many times. Cheers!
