Tickets just gone on sale chaps. 100 points and £42 (forty ****ing two). Anyone else going? Got mine.
It's the £22 part above the £20 I was expecting which pissed me off. I'll have to downgrade my cans to Kestrel lager at this rate. Robbing Yorkshire Bastards.
Initial maximum allocation according to the club. This suggests that they are expecting Wednesday to give us more ticket. I will be surprised if we don't have at least 4,000 down there. The Leppings Lane End of the crowd is for away fans and segregating that end of the ground is a logistical nightmare. We will get the whole stand rather than the current upper tier. It's currently on 100 points but I fully expect this to drop to 50 points at the very least.
I've been to Hillsborough twice before and won't be going back. Both times were before the disaster. I remember South Yorkshire Police (or the person in charge on the day) as being very inept with their handling of a very big crowd in '83.
I remember that day, quite a bit of trouble, mainly caused by our fans. I've been there ten times minimum, that day was the worst.
Championship:Owls allocation increased Following representations to both South Yorkshire Police and the relevant Safety Advisory Group, Newcastle's allocation for next month's trip to Sheffield Wednesday has been increased. The original 2,350 places have been boosted by additional 850 for a revised total of 3,100 tickets - although that's still less than the highest away allocation at Hillsborough this season (both Aston Villa and Leeds received over 4,000 last August). That 3,100 total looks to be in the upper tier only of the West (Leppings Lane) Stand, with the lower section presumably left empty. Newcastle's last competitive visit to the stadium in December 2009 saw the Magpies backed by 5,300 followers in that end.
