I have a boney arse anyhow, and that is where I get the most discomfort when riding. You will get used to clips, it just takes a bit of getting used too.
My clipless moment happened as I came up to a busy main road, so it had a big audience. I'd slowed right down and unclipped one foot early in readiness for a tight right turn leading up to a busy road, and I could see to my left was clear. I turned to look right, and could see I needed to stop. It was then I realised I'd unclipped my right foot, and was almost stationary, and leaning left and knew exactly what was coming, and it did, all in slow motion. I'd have laughed like **** if I'd been a passing car driver.
Getting your helmet wet, getting some gash or just going head first into a ladies bush, however you want to put it. Falling off your bike just isn't fun.
Did exactly the same on first using clips at the magic roundabout traffic lights in Beverley - didn't know you could fall so slowly and feel such a fool at the same time.
Tomorrow 33 years married. On my way home to be there. First time in 5 year's I'll be there to celebrate it. Mrs is pretty chuffed. She said what do ya want to eat? I said fish and chips. (Peas and gravy) She just sent me a message saying you Dick head. Bloody charming I'm sure.
I ride my bike to the pub to avoid driving the car. Tried riding the bike back home the first time I used that method. Impossible. The bike is essentially used as a surrogate Zimmer frame on the 1.5 mile return journey. My fitness doesn't seem to have improved one bit !
I lived in the Middle East years ago, there were loads of Brits doing just that. Other Europeans aswell.
It's ok.Tough sometimes though. I like Ramadan though. Start at 5.00am finish at 11.00 am. then home to do some paperwork.
My senior moment was at the City ticket office. It was dark and I was with my 2 lads. I stood outside the door waiting for someone to come out thinking to myself "come on you daft old **** I haven't got all day". My youngest then ushered me through the door muttering "That was your reflection you Wally"
