Marco Silva is preparing to take his players away for a warm-weather training camp this week as he looks to make full use of a break in the fixture list.

The Tigers’ first team squad will fly out to Portugal on Wednesday for a week-long camp, giving Silva a first real extended opportunity to spend time on the training ground with his players since taking over as Head Coach in early January.

A 28-man squad has been selected to travel to the Algarve, with Curtis Davies, Ryan Mason, Markus Henriksen and Moses Odubajo the only senior players who won’t travel as they continue their injury recovery at home.

The players will return to East Yorkshire a week on Wednesday, ahead of their key Premier League fixture with Burnley at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday 25th February.

Blimey, surprised we're taking so many. A good move though, like a mini pre-season and a real chance for some serious work. I'm sure there will be double or triple sessions and some good bonding with so many new faces.

Interesting that Hernandez and Dawson have gone, they can't be that far off and unless it's an oversight, it seems Keane has also gone.

A few of the young lads must have gone to reach those numbers as well.

Wasn't Dawson quoted as 3 weeks and Abel as 4? Well it'll be 3 weeks by the time Burnley comes around.

He's just gone home to see his Mam. Obviously got a sack load of washing and feeling a bit homesick. I wonder if he'll sit around an open fire re telling tales of 'City of Culture' and the gastronomic delights of our fair City for example a patty (food - not forum ****wit)

Weather looking good for next week- we're heading to Lisbon at the weekend and should get home in time for the Burnley game. Training for us will probably consist mainly of lifting wine glasses and chomping on custard "pasties", roast chicken and sardines.

in this last days almost every district has been on orange alert because of rain and rough sea and Algarve was one of the probable more affected.

Bruce's house is in Vale de Lobo, I can't remember where the team actually trained, but I think it might have been Albufeira (it won't necessarily be the same place now).
