You can get temporary deals, £18 a month for the first three months, or they were doing a package at £33 a month for £18 months, but the standard Sky Sports package starts at £49.50.

I haven't watched an Italian league game for years. Thinking of cancelling BT sport.

My impression was that they weren't.

Leeds and Brighton seemed to be the darlings last season.

Newcastle were by far the most watched Championship team on Sky last season, 9 of the top 10 viewed games were Newcastle games (the other was Leeds).

Though I can't find a list of how many televised games each team ended up with.

Good job it has plenty of other leagues on there then and Serie A is well down their list of priorities.

I think their coverage is excellent and the product is as exciting as ever, but people just don't want to pay such a massive amount when these things are available for free. They also have to realise that there's so much to do, so much media to consume that we can all live without a few channels if they cost a fortune.

It sounds like they'll have to reconsider how much they pay for the rights to cover matches cos I can't see the demand rising again any time soon when there's so much other stuff to watch for free. Would that effect clubs TV money significantly or is it more down to overseas broadcasters?

I remember you used to be able to just subscribe to Sky Sports 1 but what happened was every now and then they'd put a big game on Sky Sports 2 to piss people off and try to get them to subscribe to more than one sports channel. I read there's going to be two football channels so maybe something similar might happen again. You subscribe to one football channel and then the game is on the other one.

It could also be because football in general has lost its appeal having been flogged to death over the years and is now such a common commodity that people are sick of the prima Donna's falling over if anyone nearby sneezes even. I mean injured during a warm up? If that's not taking the piss then I don't know what is.

    There are three simple reasons-

    1. Sky Sports packages are far too expensive and people are fed up of them constantly hiking the prices to insane levels.

    2. There is no Champions League and less premier league games now that BT have taken them off them.

    3. You spend all that money for a few hours of content a week. The rest of it is re-runs of the same old stuff. Which is entirely biased to top 5 clubs.

Some people only like one sport so why as a rugby, football or cricket fan would you buy all the channels if you are only interested in one sport.

Newcastle and Aston Villa not been on the league is a scapegoat.

Basically, its £18 to add one sports channel, then £4 per additional channel, you can select three channels before it becomes cheaper to pay for the entire package at £27.50 a month.

Of course you need the basic SKY TV package on top for another £20.

I play cancel roulette every year, actually cancel and you can guarantee before you are actually cut off/contract end that retentions will ring.

I have the lot, all sports, movies, box sets, hd, etc. For £38. Which is about what it's worth, not the circa £80 list price.

Does that actually work .I have heard mixed reviews.
My problem is that my normal TV reception is cack so I need to have Sky so the other half can view the soaps.

I've scrapped it all a few years ago, but did that when I had it, with a fair degree of success. I even got a call from them and a years free subscription more recently, which was handy for watching on the phone, but that's now run out.

I did try it with Satanta, expecting another discount. I was watching it at the time.

    Me: I'd like to cancel.
    Satanta: Okay
    Picture off,
Satanta: "have a nice day". :emoticon-0102-bigsm
