@ Rangers . Pathetic at £10 a ticket. Where are you all. Please don,t turn up at Fulham or Brentford just for a pi££ up
3,000 I odd I heard quoted, it is pretty poor, but it's a midweek cup game, we have a habit of being turned over in this competition and the sun is out. I'd much rather save myself the trouble and enjoy a beer in the beer garden like most people.
Club's priorities and performance in this comp have created a poor turnout. 4th time in 20 years we're into the 4th round.
Season ticket...and also being old.......I paid £5 for a Gold Ticket in row A....and we won....GREAT VALUE.not sure you can have that much fun for a fiver anywhere else
It is holiday time and people have a lot of expense on at the moment with kids about to go back to school. The quality of the opposition wouldn't entice a lot of people apart from the die hard's to go. I am sure if the game was a few weeks later there would have been a good few more there.
Beth - Congratulations. I see that you have broken "the curse". You now have to attend every match until Wembley!
It just tells you the apathy has already set in for this season. The 'crowd' on Saturday was 13,300 which is three quarters capacity, many more performances like that and we'll be struggling to make 10k by mid-season...
It was a pleasant summer evening, even though most of the football wasn'the that great Well done to the small group of travelling Dale fans though
I don't normally go to these early cup exits but was glad I went if only to have a look at the Polish bloke and the two wingers. £11 for my son and I was a bargain really.
And what did you think of them? I thought both the young wingers did well - pacy and willing to run at the opposition, and our new Polish lad is a tough tackler. Sometimes needs to stay on this feet more though - a couple of tackles were may be a bit too full on. But clearly a replacement for Henry in his deep lying midfield role
Thought the two youngsters were spot on. Kaky started brilliantly but got tired. Shodipo lasted longer (as expected who has has had more game time)....both caused a lot of problems. Ariel was good very strong, a bit too strong (apparently he got sent of in his first match for his last team. I rate both more highly than El-K, who is mch more an impact sub, than starter But we do seem to have strength in our defensive midfield with Henry, Ariel and Sandro. Still worried about Conor though
I've only just completed therapy after Vauxhall Motors. I'd break into a sweat whenever QPR and CUP were mentioned in the same sentence
pay-back for the times they treated the fans with contempt and played the 2nd team. Let's not forget, the vast majority of fans do not live local anymore, why should they be expected to turn up and watch players going through the motions. Well done for last night by the way
Any idea what the lowest crowd is in the last 50 years for a 'competitive ' match? I get the whole, it's expensive (it's not really),too far to travel etc but thought we had more die-hards than we actually do. If I lived or worked out of London, I wouldn't have bothered but how many of our hardcore 12-15,000 really do? As someone said Sat's crowd v PNE was very poor, also. At Brentford and Fulham we could take 6000 if we had to just because ''it's a good day out''.
I don't count that as a 'proper' competition. The club need to seriously look at last night's crowd. If we get say, Hull at home, in the next round or a club that has no away support, they have to think of a way of getting 10,000 there. That's the marketing people's job. Only about 2 crowds were smaller than ours last night out of 21. something's drastically wrong when you look at stats like that.
