Considering how **** Everton seem to think he is, I wouldn't be surprised if he was allowed. Probably not though.
The Everton fans love him for the Liverpool game. Time for Markovic to step up to the plate to rescue his career.
Markovic is the kind of player who at the end of his career will ask himself one simple question....'What the £uck happened?' So much talent, but so little application and desire to use it... 2nd half today lost the ball in their half, slumped his shoulders, dropped his head and couldn't be arsed to try and win it back..
I'd assumed he was carrying a knock, he signalled to be bench a couple of times and two minutes after the second time he was switched with Elmo.
Maybe he hurt himself when he laid another of their players out. Thought it was a fair tackle personally but he got booked for it.
Maybe it has something to do with what Jak said after the match today, Naisee is a bit lazy in training apparently.
The most important result next week is Palace V Watford. If Palace lose they will be a maximum of one point above us with ten games to play, but crucially those games include all of the top six (we have only two top six teams to play). I think that would make us favourites to finish above them. Likewise Boro (now 2 points behind us and struggling to score) still have five of the top six to play, which should make us favourites to finish above them. Sunderland (who are favourites for the drop) are five points behind us with three top six teams still to play. We definitely should finish above them. Add to that we play Palace away and Sunderland and Boro at home. Three games we need to at least draw, but nine points from those would dramatically improve our chances.
He's excellent. His touch when getting in behind the defence is always spot on and sets himself up for a proper finish. Most City strikers somehow find a way to mess it up before even getting a shot off when going in behind. Marco said after the game that he's better when there's more space and the game is open. That makes sense since his strength is getting behind the defence. Reading between the lines I think he'll stick Abel or Mbokani to start home games and bring Niasse on to cause problems later on.
He's great when he has half a pitch to play in and all other players behind him. He's not great when it comes to defensive work or controlling the ball or passing.
Really feeling confident about our chances of staying up. Naturally, there is a lot of work to do and things can easily go wrong, but beating Swansea was a massive boost. Plus, I'm off to Everton which means we're going to beat them as well.
I do hope you're right with that prediction Dubs. Enjoy it and no drinking. I assume your wife is accompanying you?
