I've been engaged for over 25 years, I think I've got away with it now. I did get married before though, at Ferriby church.
**** the complainers. If I get hitched I'll invite who the **** I want, tough titties to the rest of em.
I had a church wedding as it made it seem proper to me. I don't really buy into the 'it's just a piece of paper' argument.
Sydney. As mentioned in a previous thread don't get involved in wedding arrangements, you'll not be listened to, you'll be wrong & you'll end up doing what she wants anyway. Set about, with your best man, organising your stag do. I'd recommend Hull, May 4th - 14th next year. This will guarantee you seeing the final game or games of the season (depending which league we're in). It will give your Aussie pals time to save whilst also showing the foresight to include your real pals (off here) the opportunity to celebrate, with you, your upcoming shackling. If she's a true "keeper" she'll be fine about it.
Ben always has great ideas. Except maybe not Hull, I'd advise going to Leeds and commuting for games.
It's the wedding favours that pissed me off, not only did I have to buy everyone's tea, I had to buy them little treats to leave on the table as well
