I must be either getting it mixed u with somewhere else, or combining places in my head. The place I was thinking of had a few in a few years. The ones I remember were a car going off circuit and hitting a bridge support (I think) - a bit like the Jeff Krosnoff crash in ChampCar, but in a car rather than a single seater, and then a really bad one at a race start where a car went into the back of a stalled car (think it was Porsches). II'm fairly sure they were in Oz - but I saw them a while ago on a Marshalling course, so it's very possible I'm getting things mixed up in my head.
Wow 200km that's about 124 miles, F1 races apart from Monaco are run at 305km, here's something, the current lap record which was set this year is 2.01.5670, Jensen Button in the MP4-23 did the circuit in 1.48.88 just as a curio, as for the notion that an F1 driver would be confused by using a clutch don't be stupid, the V8 that you talk about are what we would call touring cars and are further off the pace by some 6 or 7 seconds when it comes to the lap record which was set by a Maclaren 650S GT3.
