Plus the Hull game, players were splashing around and passes were under-hit as the ball was getting stuck in puddles.

I agree, our defence did an outstanding job to keep him quiet the entire game. Also notable mention to Toby for staying glued to Erikssen for the game. Can only think that's why we played him there instead of defence, that way Morgan could do his job without distraction.

Possibly the best outcome from this game is if Pelle has got his confidence and scoring boots back. Makes me much more confident that we can win our remaining matches with an in form striker.

It was important for Pelle's confidence that some of his shots went in, but we must remember that even during his dry spell he wasn't rubbish...he still had shots on target and hitting the woodwork....game of small margins.

Our easy last 4 games don't look quite so easy now - with Villa and Leicester playing so well and Sunderland having to fight - City seems the easiest game

Depends how you look at it. Villa, Leicester and Sunderland are all in a relegation battle for a reason. We should be well up to winning each of those games. City on the other hand are still City. I don't really fancy us going up there needing a result to finish 6th.

Though of course football never quite works out the way you think it will

Could we not just play Newcastle four times?

These games are tough but we have a good record against bottom half of the table sides and if they have to open up to try and win the match rather than sitting there solidly things look more favourable. If we play like we did against Tottenham and create as many chances I am confident of winning at least two of those three.

It may suit us as they will have to go for it.

No-one appears to have pointed out that we now have 57 points, our highest ever return in the Premier League. Maybe we could and should have won, maybe I'm not expecting enough from Saints, but when you remember where we've come from, a record points haul, plus the opportunity to get to Europe, isn't too shabby.
The icing on this season's cake will be to finish above Spurs and Liverpool, and our respective run-ins could still see that happening.

I did mention this yesterday, but as you say, it hasn't really been chalked up as a major milestone yet. Perhaps everyone is waiting until the end of the season, but personally I'm with you. Our highest ever points haul in the Premier League is now a guaranteed fact, so why not celebrate it right now?

Did anyone else see Clyne not looking at Pochettino? Pochettino had the ball in his hand (it was a Saints throw). Clyne ran over and didn't even look at him as he grabbed the ball.

I wondered the same with JWP when he was offered the ball by Poch and then just walked away.
